Chamberi - Quiet flat, ideal for families CAS

We have enjoyed our stay at the apartment, its 2 minutes walk to Iglesia metro station which connects you to different attractions, the host was very nice, took time responding but other than that there was no issue, a good value for money. There is a double bed in the basement which is good enough for two people, one bedroom at the ground floor, one bunk bed in a separate small room and a sofa bed in the tv lounge with two washrooms for for 3-6 people who are not very demanding. We got the groceries and made our breakfast in the apartment during our stay to save some money.

There was nothing to dislike our stay was comfortable.

Pros: 1. The location is excellent. It’s close to the metro station, with several supermarkets nearby, a shopping street, and even a plaza with a playground for kids. Perfect for families with children. 2. The host was very responsive and helpful, addressing any issues promptly. 3. The rooms are reasonably spacious, very clean, and the kitchen is fully equipped (though there is no dishwasher). Most of the beds were comfortable, except for the thinner mattress in the loft.

Overall Experience: I stayed here during the winter with my parents and a toddler under 2 years old. Overall, the experience was decent, but there are a few things to note. Cons: 1. The apartment is on the first floor of a building and doesn’t get much sunlight throughout the year. The first night we arrived, it was particularly cold. 2. Noise can be an issue. Neighbors, possibly from upstairs, were frequently moving up and down the stairs late at night and as early as 5 a.m., which was disruptive, especially for those staying in the main bedroom on the first floor and the loft. 3. The heating system needs improvement. Although each room has electric heaters and air conditioning, running them all at the same time often caused power outages. Despite the host arranging for someone to check, the issue wasn’t resolved during our stay. Hot water was also limited — after one person showered, the next person had to wait a long time for the water to heat up again. Conclusion: This accommodation has a great location, is very clean, and comes with a helpful host, making it a good choice for families. However, improvements in insulation, noise control, and the heating/power system would significantly enhance the experience.

Location, that's all. For the rest, very outdated accomodation. Way to expensive for what you get.

Very outdated, old, and the smell in the appartment.

The setup was perfect for our group. My husband and I had the bedroom in the back, my teenage daughter had a cute little room with a loft bed all to herself and my adult daughter and her friends had the basement room with a king bed. It was a great space for them to have to themselves. And each room had fans which is a huge plus for us. Also loved that the entrance to the apartment was directly off the street. Having 2 full bathrooms was a must. Location was very convenient.

It was a little expensive for the size compared to other places we've stayed but was actually cheaper than others in this area. Could have also been because it was a holiday weekend. Place would be small for living in, but for just staying a few days, it met our needs.

Great location very close to train station .. nice and safe neighborhood

This apartment was perfect for our family of four, all adults. The location was fantastic. The neighborhood has so many great restaurants and shops, including the highest rated pastry shop in Madrid. Super close to the Metro but you can also walk to Puerta del Sol in about a half an hour. The rooms are great, beds are comfortable and there is a nice common area as well.

Would have liked to see a few things in the kitchen cooking and serving utensils. And ideally extra pillows. But those were just little things. It truly was a wonderful stay.

Location

The first night we had to contact a locksmidt because no-one told us not to keep a key in the door inside. We had 2 keys with us. The locksmidt charges 1400€ which the owner will not refund even though the insurance covers it and we are without blame since no-one told us about the strange key-system.
