Jakaranda 22 apartment, Uvongo

This venue should not be let out in its current condition. The ceiling fans in lounge and kitchen don't work and no attempt was made to have them fixed. Owner knew before our arrival that they were not working. The bedroom walls have big pieces of paint peeling off of them. The deep freez was not working. The security gate was broken and lock not functional. The TV was not working. Told it only operated on Wi Fi which was not provided. Advertised Samsung TV provided Condere brand without instructions. Spent 14 days staring at blank wall, no TV. The tap in bathroom was had to be fixed while we were there. The owner lives some 700 kms away in Johannesburg and there is no one actually responsible on site for these things. The owner did offer a voucher for a meal at local resturant and a free extra night. What is needed here is a sizeable refund not free night a unit not fit for a holiday. One of the other owners came up to see if his Wi Fi would get TV to work but unfortunately Wi Fi was not strong enough. A lady working on site lent us a broken plug in fan which was a help but not really strong enough. We have been going to Uvongo for 54 years but I'm afraid they have seen the last of us. The roads are in a shocking condition and to then be presented with a unit like this is unacceptable. Booking.com have also seen the last of us as they obviously have no idea of the condition of the properties they are advertising.

Breathtaking view, close to Uvongo beach and all important stores and restaurants are within minutes by car

They only have a flatscreen TV with the Netflix APP and Youtube installed, they do not "Have Netflix" as per their website. You need to arrange/buy data, via a router, dongle or hotsot on your phone. More than R2,750 spent on wifi over 11 days in order to watch Netflix. With a lot of rain and severe winds, staying indoor was the only thing to do - but VERY sad that TV was such an extreme expense that we did not budget on. Permanent strong enough wifi, should cost less than one night's rental income, so I believe the unit can be fitted with wifi and not break the bank - 1st place ever I staid with no wifi/tv 😰

The view was beautiful and the Flat was comfy

Put a sticker on the sliding door to the balcony..it will make people aware that it's closed and prevent them from walking into it.
