Perfect little hideaway cottage

Brilliant last minute stay after being let down by another accommodation. Nigel was very helpful and even let us arrive early. It was lovely and clean, the log fire and silent surrounds made for a lovely break although it was short it was just what we needed !

Unfortunately we we not able to stay here so we did not experience anything we liked

We booked this property 2 days before our stay as we decided to enjoy a trip to the Safari Park nearby with our children. We had a great day out and towards the end of our trip I decided to go onto the booking.com app to check out the directions to the accommodation. At this point I noticed a message from the host which I expected to be instructions for checking in however, it was acually a message to say that Booking.com had double booked the accommodation with a prior reservation. They added that our reservation didn't meet the minimum 2 night requirement either (this was not stated during the booking process). Suffice to say I was not happy as we were literally about to travel there after a great day out. This really put a dampener on the day but luckily we managed to find alternative accommodation at last minute which was more that suitable. The host did not provide any resolution, any instructions or reassurance of a refund and to be honest was nearly very apologetic. I don't think they realised how much they affected our trip. On contacting booking.com they confirmed it was not double booked through them and a case will be opened regarding a refund. I am currently still awaiting funds to be returned. We will not be considering this property in the future as despite the situation I feel they could have done a lot more to help. They didn't even have the courtesy to phone me directly or reply to a message about getting my money back. As a new host you seem to have a lot to learn.
