"Villa Kastania" Melidoni, Chania, Crete

Wir haben als Paar acht Tage im September in der Villa Kastania verbracht. Es ist wirklich eine sehr schöne Anlage, alles ist sehr neu und sauber. Das Haus ist perfekt für ein Paar oder eine Familie mit einem oder zwei Kindern, dafür gibt es zwei Schlafräume. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, sodaß wir problemlos kochen konnten. Die Geräte funktionierten alle einwandfrei. Auch die Internetverbindung war sehr gut. Rund ums Haus gibt es einige Sitzgelegenheiten wo man sich wunderbar entspannen kann. Es gibt keinen Straßenlärm. Hin und wieder hört man Tiere. Im Haus und am Pool ist man ungestört und kann die Natur in Ruhe genießen, es gibt keine unmittelbaren Nachbarn. Auch der Ausblick ist sehr schön, man sieht die Berge und in der Ferne das Meer.

Es gab keine Restaurants oder Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe, dazu mussten wir zumindest bis Agii Pantes fahren (~5km). An diesem Ort kommt man aber immer vorbei, wenn man von einem Ausflug in die Unterkunft fährt.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Kastania. Maria and her family are quite possibly the most hospitable and welcoming people we have ever met. They received us in person, were extremely accommodating and even prepared multiple homemade snacks and meals for us. The property is beautiful (more beautiful even than the pictures would suggest), fully renovated and in perfect state, with all necessary amenities (including airco). There are multiple terraces to relax on, with gorgeous views of the gardens and the surroundings, which are beautiful and peaceful considering the location of the property in a tiny mountain town. We would not hesitate to stay at Villa Kastania again if we were to return to Crete in the future.

It was our first visit to Villa Kastania and Crete and our stay couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed every moment in this beautiful house and the magnificent place near the mountains. The home reflects the character of the owners: they are beautiful and welcoming people and they make their guests feel at home immediately. The house is very well equipped and even on a rainy day it’s comfortable to remain inside. In the huge garden there are several places where you can enjoy the view on the olive trees, mountains and the see. We hope to go back soon, because we really fell in love with this place and we look forward to meet Maria, Christos and Marianne again. Thanks for the delicious pastitsio and apple pie you prepared us but most of all we would like to thank you for kindness and friendship!
