The Essex Golf & Country Club Hotel

It was quite and relaxing, Lucy who was on duty for breakfast was really helpful and kind same as the ladies on reception, Thankyou

The bed was excellent in size and it was extremely comfortable, i have trouble sleeping but I had a good night sleep, and the room was very clean apart from the bedside table the little shelf had thick dust. The tea/ coffee options were great .

The room would have been marked exceptional but it had no air-conditioning in the room which me and my husband experienced for the first time, we get 1night off a year for our wedding anniversary . Which is now 17years.

The hotel is lovely place and has a chance of being a really good hotel . The good parts the staff are lovely and the swimming pool and sport centre and gym are great and is so the spa part I went for a massage and was great and worth the money . The food during the day was lovely and worth the money . The bar area is lovely area and clean And lovely views amongst the golf course . The downsides are The breakfast for £18 each wasn’t worth the money we been to other high class hotels and only paid £10 and had more on offer. Such as Fresh fruit and fruit salad made up to have with yoghurt As well as toast they also offer croissant and pastry’s . They also offer porridge and not to buy as an extra on the menu when paid already. The cooked breakfast on offer was cold the 3 days we were there and the hot plates they were in wasn’t hot enough we complained on the first day and the second and the 3rd day . The rooms are really basic no chairs to sit while watching tv but a table The room wasn’t cleaned to standard as you can see with the photos and we were there from Fri till mon but didn’t clean the bathroom then days we were there and shouldn’t have been left like that when we arrived. The cleaning staff need to be trained better with cleaning. The money we paid for the room wasn’t right For the state of it and also the bed didn’t. Have a mattress protecter on which all hotel rooms should have them and same for pillows and the quilt with the amount of passing trade going through . Also the rooms could do with a fridge most folk we stayed with there this weekend also said the same and same with the toiletries that were on offer could be a little bit better and more to offer . I would hope that we return on our next visit for a family party we hope the feed back will be taken in to consideration and worked on to make the hotel even better than it is now . .
