Premium Duplex Castillo Mar 60

We had been to Caleta de Fuste for Christmas 2022, stayed in the bungalows at the Barcelo Castillo Hotel, but didn't use any of the hotel's communal facilities. We loved CdF though, and wanted to return. This year we decided to try and find somewhere with a washing machine. Turns out we found accommodation with a washing machine, and also a dishwasher, full sized hob and proper oven. That's pretty unusual in the Canary Islands. It means no dish or clothes washing, and being able to have something oven cooked if you want to. Result! 😁 The location of the apartment is excellent - close to supermarkets, the shore, promenade and restaurants. Everything we needed. Vicki and Max had put up a Christmas Tree for us, and left beer, wine, milk and biscuits in the fridge. There are also some tea, coffee and sugar containers so you can have a sit down with a cuppa when you arrive ( instead of unpacking your own supply of Tetley like we usually do!) Lots of little touches about this place that make it easy to relax - they even have a pump for large water flagons so you don't need to lift it to pour a glass of water. We like having nobody above us scraping chairs on the floor, so the duplex layout is ideal. The Castillo Mar complex is a mix of permanent residents and holidaymakers, everyone says hello. We're not big on sunbathing all day, but there are always plenty of beds in the pool area if that's your thing. It's pretty peaceful in the pool area too. We're spoilt for choice with the restaurants in CdF, our favourites are the Goose and Firkin, Los Bodeguitas and the Wild West. Avoid D3 and the Trafalgar when they look busy - they didn't have enough staff to deal with customers even though they had seated you.

Absolutely nothing at all! It's much better equipped than anywhere else we've stayed in the Canary Islands. If I was being really picky, I'd have liked an additional bin for recycling.♻️

Excellent location, superb facilities, great hosts

A great duplex apartment , spotlessly clean with lots of little extras. The hosts Vickie and Max were always on hand offering help, tips and useful information. On arrival Vickie checked us in and explained how everything worked and gave recommendations on local restaurants. She had left us wine, beer, milk and snacks to make us feel at home. There were also extras like shampoo and shower gel, condiments and tablets for the dishwasher and washing machine. The apartment had recently been refurbished so it was very comfortable and we had a really relaxing week there. The apartment had a terrace and a balcony with a partial seaview which was an added bonus. The complex has a great pool with plenty of sun beds and it was very quiet. There are an abundance of restaurants and bars nearby. If you like live music there are plenty of bars where you can listen to many genres. Vickie also recommended someone who could take us to the ferry port and this worked out great for us especially getting a mini tour on the way, avoiding the main highway. Thank you Vickie snd Max you really were super hosts.

Excellent apartment in a great location with friendly helpful hosts, highly recommended.

Very clean, central to all amenities. Welcome pack fantastic, apartments have been renovated to a high standard. Washing machine dishwasher iron hairdryer all included. Dish towels , towels and beach towels supplied. Dish soap dishwasher tabs and washing detergent supplied. Host Vicky is so helpful nothing is too much trouble we will definitely be returning 10/10

Nothing. Everything was lovely

Location, location, location...just perfect. Mins walk from everything. Quiet, peaceful and secure. Very relaxing. There was absolutely nothing we didn't like about this apartment... it had everything you could want and more...Oven, toaster, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, ironing board and Iron, clothesline, hairdryer and ceiling fans in both bedroom and living room. Tv with english channels and Netflix to sign into. Great WiFi speed downstairs (not upstairs). Power shower and added bonus of a second toilet downstairs. Spotlessly clean throughout. Vickie & Max left us a wonderful welcome pack with coffee pods for dolce gusto machine...milk...wine & beers in fridge along with crisps and biscuits. They were exceptionally good at communication and were available at all times throughout our stay for any queries that we had. As I said when we were leaving "we arrived as guests but are leaving as friends" I have absolutely no hesitation at all on recommending or rebooking myself in no60 Castillo Mar.

There was nothing not to like about the apartment...it was perfect. If I was to add one thing...it would be a full length mirror...perhaps on back of the bedroom door?....it was the only thing I missed...but my husband assured me I looked good so I guess I didn't miss the mirror afterall!
