"Lovely but a few flaws. I would stay again just would hope for less heat and clean water!"

7.0

The accommodation was lovely, really high quality fixtures and fittings. A very spacious static home. Easy to find and everything you need in one place. The scenery is lovely with the lakes, hills, cattle, and birds. The people are friendly. First static home I've ever seen with an ensuite with a bath, plus a second shower room! The decking area with secure fence and gate was great for our wee dog. Both evenings we went on a lovely walk around the lakes and the cows are so friendly they came over to say hello! Lots of ducks, swans, geese, swallows, and even a big heron!

The instructions sent via message were to turn the boiler on each time we needed heating and to ensure it was turned off upon leaving. (We discovered you actually need to turn it on for hot water too). When we arrived it was 27 degree weather (which I know can be uncomfortable in a static home anyway) but the previous occupants had left the boiler on (and therefore the heating) and all windows and doors were shut. So the home was about 40+ degrees upon our arrival and it was impossible to cool down by bed time so we didn't really sleep. I was a little disappointed this hadn't been checked between guests. Secondly we were sitting out on the deck enjoying the view just after our long drive, and someone (not sure if it was the owner, a fellow guest, a permanent resident, or staff) stopped to chat to us (super friendly!). As he was about to leave us he just happened to mention that the water wasn't currently drinkable for the whole site as it was coming directly from the lake. Thankfully we hadn't yet filled up our water bottles (which is lucky as the weather was so warm and it was a long car journey to get there). So we had to go and buy a ton of bottled water at a local shop. I found it concerning that a passer by happened to tell us this and there was no official notice of this from anyone working on site. If the passer by hadn't done so, we would've been drinking unsafe water all weekend... Lastly - the site is VERY near a motorway and major roundabout where cars and bikes rev very loudly, which could've made it difficult to sleep (particularly as we had to sleep with windows open to try to cool the home). But thankfully I sleep with earplugs so it wasn't too bad. This is obviously not something the site can help, but something light sleepers may want to consider.

The road noise, although after a couple of days we stopped noticing.

Everything you need and more

Not allowing a new van to be parked outside the property I find it a very petty rule. Apart from that everything else was fine
