Beautiful, quiet location, it was nice to be away from the cities. The home cooked dinner was exceptional and a real highlight for our group - do not skip it! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Takasaki area or passing through, even if for just 1 night.

What a wonderful experience! We loved the stay at Ryutakuzenji, the atmosphere was nice and zen and the service was excellent. Breakfast was also yummy and very filling. The head priest gave me a introduction to the temple and to be able to meditate inside the temple early in the morning was amazing. The place is not hard to find but you definitely need a car to access it.

"We like to stay in quiet places but we picked the wrong place this time."

The bathtub was large.

We didn’t expect the system of self service or didn’t explain enough for us seniors. There was no one there to ask any questions except the mealtime. It was in the middle of nowhere. They didn’t give an accurate map or instructions. The road signs are closed to none. We had a hard time finding the places and coming back.

This was a very beautiful and relaxing place. The staff was very nice and very helpful. We loved that they also had a PlayStation Mini for use to play on!

- Great stay, very gentle staff - experience an authentic stay at a real Japanese Buddhist temple - You can experience morning meditation (zazen) with great english explanation - Rooms are very clean and new! - Environment is very relaxing
