Machiya Kamo River 7

A lovely location next to a small river in a quiet neighborhood. This was a beautifully restored, very comfortable property. Near cute local restaurants and public transportation.

Cozy home in a great location. Walkable to many sites but we took taxis only because we had a toddler. Host was very welcoming and even let us check in early!

Everything was as expected - comfortable and clean house in a fantastic location.

It would be helpful to have instructions for the combination washer/dryer in English. It took us a while to even realize that the machine could both wash and dry. There were many buttons and it took us a bunch of Google translating to finally figure out how to run everything properly. There's also a small laundromat with industrial-sized machines within a block down the street that's a great backup when there's a large group all needing to do laundry. BTW, the restaurant next door is an AMAZING yakuniku place where you grill the meats yourself in front of you. It can get way too smoky, but we were still talking about how great the meal was weeks afterward.

Kazuya is the best host!

Thank you Manager Kazuya. Well presented, traditional home catering for all the family with western style beds plus Japanese style bedding. Kitchen well appointed. Great location close to river, subway and only a short walk to Kyoto station. Very enjoyable 5 night stay. Our Japanese friends who called in to pick us up for a day out were jealous - better and larger than their own home! Delightful small garden space. Appreciated the 2 toilets and bathrooms.

The location is fabulous, easy from train station and close to river and easy access to kyoto highlight and great restaurants. Fun to stay in traditional Japanese house, coffee in morning a bonus for Aussies!!
