"Vacation with a phantom balcony" We stayed here for four nights and arrived with high expectations - partly because the ad promised a balcony. We searched for some time... but only found a window with ambitions and self confidence, at best a balcony with delusions of grandeur. With a little goodwill and a yoga pose, one could hang out and just barely have a glimpse of the advertised view. Parking for the four days cost about the same as a long weekend trip to Paris, but in return, the view from here matched the one promised from the apartment. The local area was picturesque and offered a fair amount of local color. For instance, we could experience a church service and beautiful hymn singing from the lovely church just opposite the balcony that almost was, and donkeys making their way to the nearby lemon orchards after the day's harvest. The promised dishwasher was more metaphor than machine. Without wire baskets, dishwashing would have been like an expert-level game of Tetris. We chose hand-washing instead. The apartment was nicely decorated, very clean, and well-equipped. However, the way in was complicated by a key and lock so stubborn that it required both arm strength, zen exercises, a grip like an engineer's vise, and patience like a medieval monk to wrestle the key in and out of the lock. All in all: an unforgettable combination of local color, church bells, and a struggle with both lock and logic. Not for those seeking hotel chain perfection — but for travelers with humor and an open mind, there is plenty to gain. And a little to laugh about afterwards :)

The house was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a washing machine in the bathroom, which was really useful as we stayed here for almost a week. The quick way to the beach involves quite a few stairs, but the house is situated in a quiet location, with a nice view. There are a few hiking trails starting there or passing through the village. There are 2 restaurants and a bar nearby and the bar also has a small grocery shop.

You need to pay attention not to hit your head when climbing the stairs to the bedroom as the ceiling is a bit low on the side, but once you are in the bedroom there is no issue.

It was very nice to live in a less crowded area to get away from the people
