A Cornish Cabin in the Tamar Valley

Great location, easy to get to, very peaceful.

We liked the quiet location, the attentive host, and the general feel of the cabin. The cream tea on arrival and the log burner were both very welcome.

Our only real complaint was the bed. It's rather small for a double and the main problem is that it's too short for anyone of medium height or above. I'm only about 1m 78cm tall but found the bed and the quilt too short for comfort. Cold feet!

I had such a lovely stay at this charming little annex—it was the perfect surprise weekend from my husband! The place was clean and beautifully kept and had everything we needed for a relaxing long weekend. The owner was absolutely lovely and even left us a delicious cream tea on arrival, which was a thoughtful touch. One of my favorite things was the little fireplace — it made the evenings so cosy and peaceful. The location was great, too, just a short drive from both Cotehele and Tavistock, so it’s ideal for exploring the area.

The only thing to be mindful of is the driveway — it's a bit tight when parking, especially with a larger car.

The entrance onto the property was a tight squeeze as we drive a van. More cutlery (esp. teaspoons) and crockery needed to avoid running the dishwasher half full. Microwave would be handy!

Everything was Fine!

This was our second visit, so I think that speaks volumes. We love everything about the cabin - it's in such a great location and so comfortable, well equipped and peaceful. The view is beautiful, and the parking is great. The weather was kind this time, and we so enjoyed having our breakfast out on the sunny patio, but also the use of the wood burner, as the evenings were still pretty chilly. We also saw a lovely sunrise. Jonathan is so kind and helpful, and can't do enough for you. The cream tea with homemade jam was a lovely touch. Thank you, and we'll definitely be back.
