Muddy Paws Cottages - The Nook

Lovely cottage with everything you could ask for. Our second time visiting and once again we had an amazing stay. Looking forward to the next time!

The location was beautiful and quiet.

Very modern and super clean cottage. Has everything you need. Great ambient lighting throughout, underfloor heating and comfortable seating. Really kind gesture to leave a birthday banner and hamper (including birthday cake!)- this was exciting and much appreciated. Excellent shower (beware it’s so good you want to stay in it, and the hot water runs out before you finish!). Lovely soft bed linen and duvets. Appreciated the logs for the burner. Nothing is too much trouble for the cottage hosts and they appear very generous with the use of things in the cottage. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Second bedroom is very small. No space for my suitcase so it stayed on the landing. Would benefit from a little dressing table, rather than a tall chest of drawers. A mirror would’ve also been helpful like there was in master bedroom. Everything else was perfect.

Wonderful location, nice decor, and the welcome basket for the dogs was simply delightful. Having plenty of blankets available to cover the sofas for the dogs was great. Well thought through and lovely cottage.

The mattress in the main bedroom needs changing - there are visible big dips in it which we had to fill with towels to create a flat surface.

We had such a warm welcome with a lovely hamper as it was a special stay and the communication was so good with very clear directions of how to fins the key at the property. Everything we needed was there with brilliant kitchen facilities including air fryer etc Everything was nice and clean and cosy and beautifully decorated. Brilliant guide for where to walk and loads of great walking books and pub guide.

This cottage is amazing! I've been hoping to find a true ten out of ten cottage for years and finally this is it! Everything has been thought of, well equiped without being over full, comfortable, clean and warm. All the things you could want from a cottage in a lovely small village with a great pub, nice walks, and a bus route into Bakewell or Buxton - and better yet the Thornbridge Brewery!

The property was exactly as described and shown in the photos. Really comfortable and warm, with a log burner and modern lighting. The location is excellent, in the quiet village of Taddington. There is a nice pub in the village that serves food, and the hosts provide a guide on nice places to walk and eat that are near by. The hosts communicated excellently prior to booking and left a personalised message for my birthday and welcoming our dog, Ivy. They also provided a welcome hamper with lots of goodies for us and the dog.

Nothing to not like.

The property was lovely and the attention to detail was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this property.

Steps to garden

We loved the cosy living room and underfloor heating (and the over the bed heating), the kitchen had everything you could possibly want, the shower is just fabulous, the beds extremely comfy, and there is some amazing tech (although you don't have to use it). The welcome hamper was such a lovely surprise and very gratefully received. Alex is a brilliantly responsive host. Great location for walks and visiting nearby towns - we will definitely be back for a longer stay.

We loved everything about the property - it was perfect.
