Beach View Hotel - Kisumu

Not much. It was small and pretty awful.

Being the beach view hotel, we expected it near the beach, yet it was about a 15 minute walk to the beach. As for the beach itself, it was absolutely not for swimming or even sightseeing. The "beach" was a fishing village.

The place was calm

The food was awful yet took almost2hrs to get ready.,The environment was not so clean.

we had an enjoyable stay at the Beach View Hotel. It is extremely good value for money, the staff were friendly, helpful & accommodating and the breakfast was filling and quite nice. We read some fairly negative reviews, but thankfully we didn’t experience any issues like the one’s described. Of course, the accommodation isn’t 5 star luxury but it’s significantly nicer than expected given the price we paid.

There were lots of Mosquito’s, but this is expected given its very warm in Kisumu and you’re next to the 2nd largest fresh water lake in the world. I’d recommend installing mosquito blockers on the windows, and to travellers, bring lots of repellent & ensure your mosquito net is well placed.

Staff and reception area improved Breakfast to be impressive

Walking around looking for the staff to inform him that I need to check out. The location is surrounded by noise from residents

The room is squeezed and the beddings very old. not recommended for solo travelers as the single room is not standard
