Afro Smile Hotel & Guest House

Afro Smile was a great experience for my husband and myself. We live and work in the area and regulary take a night away from work to unwind. We've tried LOTS of places in the area. Afro Smile was quiet, the gardens and pool area was well maintained. The pool was small but kept clean. The bed was comfortable, the bedding was fresh and towels were replenished when needed. The meals were fresh and hot. And, when they didn't have a drink I asked for, one of the staff got on a bodo and got it for me. Very attentive and helpful. The actual hotel has some creative decor - and this is a place we'll regularly come back to. It is EXCELLENT value for the money you spend.

So - it's not a Miami 5 star resort. It is a quiet, comfortable, clean and welcoming African hotel. The meals took a while to arrive because they're made on the spot, (including the breakfast - which was not a buffet), and the curry and rice were excellent - they arrived at the table hot and fresh. If you're super time-conscious you might be annoyed. We weren't. Just order early. Also, the shower took time to get adjusted. First it was a dribble, but then ran hot and when we got the cold going and turned the shower on it had great pressure and stayed the same temp the whole time without fluctuating. I can't say there was anything we didn't like. There were some areas to tweek. We really enjoyed our stay.
