Location was ok. Property was kept very clean and was presentable.

Narrow streets to get to the property so it was a tight squeeze for the car. Because of the structure, getting into the bed oon one side was awkward and same goes with the bath. No handles on the bath made it difficult to get up and impossible to have shower in bath standing up. Best to just have a shower and not a bath. Property was freezing cold downstairs despite the heater and TV didnt work when we stayed over.

"Overall, Mill Cottage House is a charming choice for those seeking a quintessential countryside getaway. While there are"

8.0

Nestled in a picturesque village in the heart of the Cotswolds, Mill House cottage offers a truly enchanting retreat. From the moment you approach the property, you’re struck by its historic charm—likely built in the 1800s, though its exact origins remain a mystery. The small, narrow driveway adds to the quaintness of the experience, although it demands some skill to navigate (reversing in is highly advisable). Stepping inside, you’re immediately captivated by the interior, which balances modern comfort with an authentic old-world feel. The common living area—a seamless blend of kitchen, dining, and lounge—exudes warmth and charm. Wooden floors, a cozy rug, and thoughtful touches like a vintage crockery stand and a selection of books create a space that invites relaxation. The sofa, which doubles as a bed, is a handy addition, making the cottage suitable for small groups or families. Upstairs, the first floor features a queen-sized bed, a chest of drawers, and an open closet. The low, sloped ceilings and cottage-style windows with blinds maintain the rustic aesthetic while allowing plenty of natural light to filter through. It feels like stepping into a storybook, though taller guests may need to mind their heads! The bathroom, while beautifully designed, has its quirks. The bathtub is a lovely feature, perfect for a soak, but it’s not practical for showers—tall or average-height guests will find themselves ducking to avoid the low ceiling. Nevertheless, the bathroom is well-stocked with essentials like body wash, shampoo, and hand soap, which was a nice touch.

Outside, a small table and chairs provide a tranquil spot for morning coffee, accompanied by the serene village atmosphere. The garden lights could have added to the ambiance, but unfortunately, the switch to turn them on was elusive. It’s a minor detail but worth noting for future guests or the owners to address. One of the more noticeable challenges was the heating system. The first floor can get quite toasty, while the ground floor remains on the cooler side, which made maintaining a consistent temperature a bit tricky. Additionally, the Wi-Fi was a significant issue during our stay. It was unreliable, cutting out frequently, which was problematic given the lack of mobile signal in the area. This also affected the television, which relies on Wi-Fi. While the property owners were responsive and tried to assist, the issue persisted, which could be a deal-breaker for some, especially those needing a stable connection for work or communication. Despite these minor inconveniences, the cottage delivered on its promise of an authentic “cottage experience.” It offered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle, with its characterful interiors and idyllic setting. However, for the price, a few improvements—particularly in Wi-Fi reliability, heating balance, and garden lighting—would elevate the experience from great to exceptional.

"Cute place, clean and modern, lots of rules!"

8.0

Super cute place, kind neighbours. Cottage felt modernised and clean. Neighbourhood was cute and picturesque. Good aesthetic.

Communication about the security deposit was not tailored for booking.com guests and the link to pay it was removed. The heating was disconnected from the thermostat and it took 30mins of googling to make it work as there were no instructions in the manuel. The TV was very small. No bin outside for household waste despite an email and he handbook chasing you to put your own waste outside at the end of your stay.

"Peaceful getaway location"

8.0

Very quiet, peaceful location, beautifully decorated. Lovely addition of board games to play. Lots of helpful cooking utensils etc and even tea/coffee/hot chocolate available.

Very tight parking space, we decided to park in the road outside after the first night as it's a tricky spot to navigate. The door lock was an issue a couple of times, we spent 10 minutes one day trying to get out but managed it eventually and the help number answered quickly.
