Musty smell when first entering the property. Stairs pretty steep and painted. Not recommended if wearing socks going up and down. Also not great headroom for tall person, particularly in top bedroom with beam right across the ceiling. No bedside light in the single room and light switch outside the room on the landing. Roman blind in top bedroom and in the living room need repairing as cannot pull up fully. 2 of the feet on living room stool were loose.

Too cramped. It would be a wonderful place for the table and chair to be in centre of ground floor room then single room be a snug with a sofa and footstool and tv on the wall. What a great place it would be then - presently far too cramped on the lower floor. The front door is so bad and need sorting. Then the dark green on the walls needs repainting white- its already a dark small room. The property owners would get repeat guests time after time - we wld go back with these changes. I was so disappointed as I was celebrating my birthday. The property is not 'stunning' but so could be.

Very steep stairs in combination with low ceilings. Front door was hard to open and close.
USThis cottage is very well-kept and in a perfect location just down the street from the center of town, with easy access to both the amenities in town and a walking trail to Conygre Mead park for some time in nature. The location also provides easy access to the many of must-sees throughout the Cotswolds.
GBLocation , perfect walking distance into town and supermarket. Great afternoon walking tour around the town. Friendly locals. Loved the style of the cottage. Great communication, lock box easy to access.
Front door has dropped, needs a good slam to close. Foot stool, 1 leg needs fixing. Nails sticking up on kitchen step and wooden strip loose. Could do with small coffee table at the side of settee. Stairs are steep, but it is an old cottage.

GBWe liked to quirky style of the property, that it has been well modernised and equipped whilst retaining its period charm and its central location in the centre of Malmesbury.
The two staircases were very steep and the lack of handrail (which has been mentioned frequently in previous reviews by others) felt dangerous, to the point we dreaded going up & downstairs. The lack of handrail seems like a reckless disregard of guest safety which should urgently be addressed by the owners.

The stairs are steep - almost like a ladder, painted wood which makes them a bit slippery, and there are no handrails to help you. It is an old cottage and the main bedroom is in the roof space so you have to watch your head on the eaves all the time. The second bedroom is a single bed with a pull out bed underneath it, which is good for a family but not ideal for a large adult. Due to the age of the property it does smell of damp but the owners have dehumidifiers everywhere to help with this.
