TOP OF THE PORT

This property is one of the most amazing and stylish properties we ever stayed in! The views towards the city and the port are breathtaking. Max, the host was super nice, very welcoming and available at all times. Staying at this property can guarantee a memorable experience and is definitely a must if you visit Palermo!

Everything was amazing

THE VIEW. This flat has nearly all windows of floor to ceiling glass. The views of the active port were terrific. We watched ferries and cruise ships come and go. It was terrific!!!

The drapes in the bedroom work pretty well but the portion over the door is hard to operate if you want to open the door, but not open the curtain. This occurs when someone is sleeping and the other wants to get up. You have to pull open the curtain to open the door but now the door is in the way of closing the curtain. Needs work! We couldn't get the coffee filter basket holder to stay in place. It wouldn't lock in so a bit of water would come through and then the handle would rotate and water would spill everywhere. It was very hard to hold the handle in place. We gave up on the coffee machine and used instant which is terrible.

Amazing views, great position out of the centre of the city. A short walk to the city centre. Very comfortable, washing machine was great and clothes dried so quickly. Balconies were wonderful watching the boats come and go.

Excellent communication with the hosts. The apartment is stunning and the views are excellent. Central location with all the sights within walking distance.

The views of Palermo were great but it stopped there!

We left after 1 night of our 5 night booking. We luckily found alternative accommodation at short notice - costing $1300. (A very unexpected expense) The deafening traffic noise 24 hrs a day, from the 4 lane road below the apartment. Accessibility of the unit felt unsafe, especially at night. Terrible odour as you opened the door, and unfortunately because of the traffic noise, you are unable to leave the sliding doors open to freshen the place. No matter how many air fresheners are in the apartment, we understand old places smell but this was putrid. The bed creaked all night, (owners should sleep in it for a night). The kitchenette was a joke, the coffee provided was a half jar of instant that was so old you could turn it upside down and it stuck - totally unusable. As in previous guests remarks, I’m sure the owners will not like our truthful observations.

Owners Max and Cristina were very helpful and communicative. The views of the port and the town are spectacular, and the location is an easy walk to main attractions - or to the excellent bus system if necessary.

Nothing significant at all, plumbing is Italian but not bad, and the pluses were amazing.

he best part is its location. It's in a really nice area with awesome views, which I loved seeing every day. The owner of the apartment was really nice and helpful. He let us check out late, which made our last day much easier. Also, when we told him the apartment could have been cleaner, he offered to clean it again and even gave us a small gift to say sorry. I really appreciated how he handled everything.

The biggest problem was the noise. There's a big street with four lanes right next to the building, and it was always noisy. This made it hard to enjoy sitting on the terrace during the day or trying to sleep at night. If you're looking for a quiet place, this might not be the best choice. The apartment itself wasn't as nice as the pictures made it seem. It was okay, but not perfect.

The view over the harbour was good.

There was a horrible smell in the apartment. It was very noisy - the block of flats is located on a busy road and the traffic noise was always there and very grating/annoying. The windows did filter out some of the noise (but who wants the windows closed all the time). I found it too noisy to sit outside on the balcony, the balcony faces the road. I couldn't stand the smell and noise so we had to move out after two days, even though we had booked for a whole week. Other reviews said that the owner was great. But when I messaged him that we were moving out early and why, he didn't even acknowledge my message. I never got any response, which I find shocking. Booking a whole week was very expensive (we weren't expecting any refund) but he couldn't even be bothered to reply. I'm very disappointed, shocked. Also, a few other more minor issues: the bed was comfortable but very creaky. There is a washing machine but only a tiny drying rack. For an expensive holiday let, the quality of things like clothes hangers (the cheapest you can get and only very few), the sofa is not very comfortable, cheap frying pan and kettle etc. The front door is extremely creaky (which a bit of care and lubricant oil could solve). So, in short, unless you like a smelly and noisy flat on a busy road, avoid this apartment!

The view was out of this world! Also, Max and Cristina were great hosts! They helped us so much with our questions and gave us great advice!

The property has to be one of the nicest places in Palermo, even though the building seems older, everything worked perfectly.

The view from the terrace and the host was exceptionally nice!
