The house was ideally situated, clean comfortable and very well equipped. Loved the quirky design. Owners have gone above and beyond with the facilities. Handy for the train station and all the sights. Beds very comfy.

"A wonderful stay!"

Wonderful, quirky, cosy house in an excellent location, close to The Shambles, shops & river and within walking distance to the rail station. Our lovely host, Sarah, very proactive as well as responsive - it was my sister's 60th and the birthday cake & banner, were a lovely touch and much appreciated. All of your comforts are, thoughtfully, provided e.g breakfast items, tea & coffee etc. The decor is fabulous, super comfortable beds, lovely cosy relaxing lounge, loved the wetroom with the skylight (had many a joyful shower in there) and the Menagerie House has a wonderful relaxed vibe - it does not take long to feel at home 🤗

We appreciated the coffee and tea station at the house. The house was so beautifully curated. The location couldn't be beat; it's easily walkable to town and all the tourist spots as well as pubs and shops.

"Cozy home base for seeing York on foot."

Very cozy and great central location.

It was a little tricky to give our kids a bath in the clawfoot tub and mind the splashes.

"Absolute gem of a house within the City walls run by wonderful hosts!"

What a treat of a stay - don't know what to start with: the house, the location, the hosts, the quirky decor, the little extra bits in the house and kitchen! Sarah and Chris answered any question (no matter how silly) we had before arrival, recommended places to visit and we just fell at home! Great location - it was our first stay in York and being within the City walls is wonderful. The weekend we stayed York hosted the races, so it was busy and buzzy. Thank you very much, Sarah and Chris, we'll definitely stay with you again on our next York visit!
