The vibe and décoration is top,clean safa and cozy.

The owner is a lovely caring woman who can cook on request, and is discreet and non-interfering. She is multilingual and the up to date decor & fittings reflect her outlook. Groceries are available close at hand and taxis to the chic parts of town are cheap. The balcony is a green and bright place to sip wine or eat breakfast, with views over the city that are very attractive.

There is intrusive street noise at times, but other guests here may not be so sensitive as me. As is the case for much of the city the infrastructure [roads, litter, recycling] is not of a high standard but the host can hardly be held responsible for these things.

For just a little more money, you can have a whole little apartment all to yourself rather than just staying in a bedroom in someone's house. Layla has thoughtfully provided everything that you can imagine. Upon arrival, as a lovely surprise, she even gave me some delicious fricassa as well as a big bottle of fresh lemonade. This was totally unexpected & very warmly received after more than 24 hours of travelling! Upon leaving, Layla kindly escorted me down the street as I was a bit fearful of all the stray dogs, having been attacked by a dog last year in another country. She even helped me with getting a taxi & talked with the driver on my behalf. She is a genuine, beautiful person.

Some things just are the way they are & most likely not able to be changed. Although I might suggest mentioning in the listing about the access to the apartment of which I was unaware. This would not suit anybody with mobility issues or those prone to vertigo. I have a form of vertigo so the very steep external spiral staircase was very scary for me. In fact, I didn't leave the apartment at all until the day I was due to leave as I couldn't face descending the stairs. Because of barking dogs & other noises travelling to the apartment, I wore ear plugs & played white noise at night which helped somewhat.
