This is was our 1st B&B experience and will be the last B&B stay even though other B&B places will be better than B&B Nona Maria. Only 2 positive points we have about B&B Nona maria, i.e. (1) The host Nikolai and his father are very friendly and helpful people. He even helped us to find 2 reservations to visit Mount Visuvios through one of his known agents since normal reservation places were sold out. (2) The place is very cleaned.

Sadly, Nikolai is running B&B with the lowest expenses & maximum profit. Place: It has no privacy at all, always he monitors guests movements inside the house, even in the kitchen and of course in/out of main door. It has 3 guests rooms & the kitchen only with a very small corridor. But he had installed CCTV not only at the entrance to monitor on the corridor, but even in the kitchen to monitor just 2 guests at a time. Not only that, but his own house room which is connected to the kitchen he has installed a “door eye” on the door to see from his house, which we were totally shocked! We were the only one had breakfast during our stay. We see twice 2 guests during the daytime & 2 guests on the night before we are leaving. I understand of big/medium/small hotels installing CCTV since there are many guests, and we have no problems with that since they do not focus only on 1-2 guests but several. Set-up: Bedroom set-up was not done for guests convenient, but on minimum expenses. Seems he had no taste of how to make a cozy, relaxed bedroom. Lighting is the worst in the bedroom. The same bright lighting on high ceiling in the entire B&B i.e. in the kitchen, corridor, bathroom and even in the bedroom. It was so bright, and unable to control for reading, falling sleep, watching TV, etc. When 1 is reading, other guests still have to sleep under bright lights! Bathroom: No place to keep our own toiletries. Only 1 place to hang the towel out of the shower cabin. Shower head is large, but it was blocked in many nozzles so water was coming out so odd. Breakfast: Not worth at all. It was just 1 croissant, milk, juice & coffee only. Towels/Linen/Toiletries: Don’t change them daily, not even alternative day! For toilet rolls we must ask! Above all: He did charge us for the night we couldn't arrive due to bad weather on the way in spite of informing booking.com & him in advance! That means booking.

Nick was very kind and helpful. Lovely croissants for breakfast. Clean and spacious room.
