La Casa de las Lunas

This hotel is a gem. The vibes are great, the atmosphere is friendly and the premises is inviting. I arrived late at night and it was my first stop in Mexico after 30-hour flights. They checked me in immediately and the room was perfect. They also tried to help me with my luggage when the number combination did not work (I had to do it manually at the end and found out that for some reason one of the three numbers was changed to the next number!). Next morning, I woke up to the beautiful sound of nature and birds. Coffee was great and abundant. Unfortunately, breakfast choices were limited. But there was an Oxxo supermarket next door where you can buy whatever you wish and heat it in the microwave. Water was provided all day from a dispenser. There was also a bank right in front of the hotel where I could change to MXN with no issues. Also, there are at least 2 good restaurants nearby suggested by the hotel. One of which was pure Mexican. Prices were very reasonable too. Check the small shop attached to the premises for souvenirs. It was the best and most reasonably priced place to buy souvenirs in all Mexico. Luckily, I bought some things, but I wish I bought more. I was hesitant because it was my first stop. Chichen Itza was ten minutes by taxi. The taxi price is fixed by the government which was a real relief! Go early to beat the crowds and heat. I suggest hiring a tour guide at the entrance. I did that and found 3 other people to share the tour with. It was informative and concise, and I guess it would be meaningless without it. After the tour, you get to check the place on your own for as long as you wish. My suggestion after Chichen Itza, is to go to Ik kil cenote (few minutes ride) and dip into the cold water after the long day of sightseeing. It was by far the best cenote I went to in Quintana Roo. Enjoy.

I wish there were more options for breakfast at the hotel.

L'hôtel est à côté d'un petit supermarché ce qui est assez pratique La proximité avec les pyramides de Chichén Itzá. On peut y aller à pied pour les courageux

La chambre est assez petite pour 4 La salle de bain en escalier La proximité avec la piscine qui effectivement nous oblige à fermer les rideaux car nous sommes à la vue de tous

Bien localisé, au centre de Piste et à 5 minutes de voiture de Chichen Itza. Belle piscine, chaises et tables devant la chambre. Parking sécurisé, même si un peu petit, mais nous avons réussi à trouver une place.

Für uns war es perfekt für eine Nacht um am nächsten Morgen Chichen Itza zu besichtigen. Im.Dorf gibt es nicht viel zu sehen aber gleich nebenan ein leckeres Restaurant.

The hotel was lovely, the rating is not based on the hotel. Read more... Pool is small but swimmable. Staff are very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Coffee and muffins provided for breakfast, free of charge. Very close to chichen itza, we walked to the site in 20 minutes the morning after our stay and were the first 2 people into chichen itza. Side note, for chichen itza, arrive around 07:40 and queue on the right hand side booths ( labelled 2 to 4 ). I wouldn't recommend a tour guide, there is lots of information and you can hear snippets when other people get explanations.

Unfortunately the town of piste is run down. The only thing to do in the area is chichen itza. There are a couple of restaurants around, most of them were empty, we had some lovely food in a "restaurant in the wall" in the centre of the town. There aren't really any bars, just restaurants, quite a few of which clwere closed by ~8. Only stay in piste for quick access to chichen itza. And bring playing cards !!! Something to do in the evening as you will be bored after 2 hours in the town.

Chambre confortable et hôtel calme. Piscine agréable après les heures de route. Nous l'avons choisi pour être tôt à Chichen Itza et c'était parfait.
