Casa San Domenico Single Room A

A comfortable room in a renovated house.

3rd floor, no elevator.

Location was excellent, near Fort Elmo.

Room wasn't cleaned when I arrived. No lift

Great base for exploring Valletta. A bit of a hilly terrain but that is everywhere is Valletta - lots of restaurants and bars within 5-10 minutes walk.The area felt safe at night for a solo female. The room was not fancy but it was clean, freshly painted, and functional with a terrace with a “peep of the sea”. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would stay there again.

The stairs gave me exercise but one nice staff member carried my suitcase upstairs for me so not a serious problem.

Very clean and the air con is brilliant. The location is probably the nicest I've had travelling as the road is quiet but so close to everything.

An extra pillow please

Convenient location, easy to find and access the room. Cleaning service every day. In total, a value for money accommodation in Valletta. Also great support and communication with the stuff via what’s up app.

Not having an elevator is challenging if you are staying on the 3rd floor. For the same reason, you can’t use frequently the fridge to have your cold water, since it is located in the common kitchen area in the basement. Spotted ants coming behind the door of the bathroom. Would be great if there was a chair on the balcony to enjoy the night view.

The area felt safe, there was everything I needed locally; corner shop, restaurant, bakery, but it was also visually pleasant. It was away from the more crowded area but walkable (albeit uphill!) to the centre and bus station. People were friendly.

There was no individual catering facilities which was not my initial impression. Not even a little kettle in my room. So it was rather inconvenient to walk all the way down to the basement (I was on the top floor) to make a cup of tea. The shared catering in the basement became clear later on, and was adequate but the seating area was not inviting - it was cook, eat, leave.

Difficulty in communication in order to acquire access to the building / room

- the location is in the city center, most things are close - the friendly and helpful staff - the room and bed were very comfortable - the room was very clean - the air conditioner worked very well

- I had to take many stairs with my heavy suitcase to my room but it's due to the old building - on the 2nd day the cleaning staff couldn't provide a new feet towel, they apperently had no more left and I already gave the first one away for washing - far away from the bus station (about 1km) - no furniture on the balcony to relax there

The apartment was located close to many tourist attractions. Although it was small, it was well organized and cozy. The personnel was extremely kind and available.

The building is very humid so the room gets quite warm at night. Although it is referred to as an apartment, there is no kitchenette, so preparing meals is not possible. The breakfast buffet is only available in a different location, 5-10 mins away from the apartment.

The facilities were not exactly the same as they were described in the Booking reservation. Unexpected surprises were added after I paid. However the hotel administration did all their best to provide me with the comfort level I expected. Thus I am very much satisfied with my stay at Casa Domenico 8 - a perfect location for sightseeing, a beautiful sea view from the balcony, and quiet time at night. I express my gratitude for a nice week vacation in Malta!

Sometimes I didn’t like something, but time has refined my impressions - I like everything I remember.
