Tifkira (The Memory)

I recently stayed at a charming building in the historic area of Birgu, Malta, and it was an exquisite experience. The property perfectly captures the essence of old Malta, offering a genuine glimpse into its rich heritage. Its location is ideal—conveniently close to all the attractions in Birgu and just a short boat ride from Valletta, making it easy to explore the capital city. The building itself is stunning, reflecting the unique architectural beauty of the region. The owner was extremely lovely and helpful, accommodating an early arrival with ease. The house was also impeccably clean, enhancing the overall comfort of the stay. The only minor issue during my visit was the lack of hot water, but given the warm temperatures, this was more of a minor inconvenience than a major problem. Overall, I highly recommend staying here for a true taste of Malta’s charm. The experience felt authentic and immersive, and the exceptional hospitality made it a memorable part of my trip.

Beautiful house close to the centre of Birgu and well equipped. The host was excellent and responded to our questions. Birgu is a beautiful historic city which we loved exploring. Great location.

The house has two small roof terraces but nowhere to sit outside. The house would benefit from some seating on the front roof terrace which has a partial view of the harbour.

Old stone house of exceptional authenticity and charm. Host Maria was most welcoming. Would repeat the choice for sure :)

My stay at an apartment in Malta was marred by a cold and insufficiently heated environment, despite the air conditioning. The initially friendly host agreed to a refund after canceling my stay due to the discomfort, but failed to follow through and ceased all communication, leading to a very disappointing experience. In contrast, other properties in Malta provided a much more comfortable and enjoyable stay, making it clear that I cannot recommend this particular apartment or its owner.

Location couldn’t be better. Old stone building has a lot of character.

Cold (except bedroom). Couch not comfortable. Not much light in living room. Nowhere to store luggage after 11am checkout. $55 cleaning fee. Stained sheets. I got several bites from mosquitoes or some other kind of insect.

A lovely old stone built house in the old capital of Malta. Lots of little alleyways to wander around and only 50 Mt's from the harbour. All facilities on site and a washing machine was a bonus.

Nothing to dislike.
