Wern Ddu, Defynnog - Brecon Beacons

This cottage is beautiful. The views are amazing. Thank you for the wine and Welsh cakes that was a lovely bonus. Had an amazing time. Everything was perfect 🥰

We liked the cottage itself, the decor and the furnishings. The fireplace and the stairs are a lovely feature. We liked the location with it being off the beaten track yet within an easy drive of the Visitor Centre (which we recommend especially as they do Gluten Free bread and cake!), walks and other places of interest. We loved being able to have the door open and listen to the stream and the birds and would love to visit again in the summer when it is warmer to take advantage of the outdoor seating areas. Having been on many treks, the outside loo is one of the poshest I have encountered.

I can honestly say that there was nothing we didn't like.

What a gem of a cottage! Georgina was a fantastic host from start to finish - professional, friendly and incredibly helpful. The guide that she prepared was also very useful for local attractions and amenities. The cottage itself is made to a high standard and with great care - the pictures don't do it justice, especially the stunning log burner and stone staircase. There were lots of logs available for us to use and some lovely decorations dotted around the cottage which made it feel very homely. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the cookware and utensils you might need. Great selection of books and games too. The location was a real bonus - set in a quiet place, right next to a lovely little river you can walk along and surrounded by great views. It's also only 15 minutes away from Pen-y-fan and not much further away from the fabulous waterfalls. What else could you want from a holiday in the Brecon Beacons!?

We honestly couldn't fault Georgina's cottage - it far exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to be back.
