Casa Via d'Agua in Fajã Grande

Das Haus ist zwar schon alt (mit entsprechend historischer, aber authentischer Ausstattung). Gut ausgestattete Küche, Wohnzimmer mit TV, zwei geräumige Schlafzimmer mit großen Bädern und einem Garten mit Wäscheleine sowie ein Waschraum mit Waschmaschine und Wäschetrockner komplettieren die umfassende Ausstattung.

Starker Ameisenbefall konnte mit Ameisenspray etwas eingedämmt werden.

Maison ancienne rustique avec beaucoup de charme, meublée à l'ancienne. Grande pelouse très agréable. Cuisine bien équipée pour qui aime cuisiner.

La maison gagnerait à être mieux entretenue, notamment portes et fenêtres et la présence d'insectes nuisibles devrait pouvoir être évitée. Aussi un parasol serait appréciable pour pouvoir déjeuner dehors. Enfin, un contact local devrait être mentionné à la confirmation de l'annonce, en lieu et place d'un numéro de téléphone aux Etats Unis qui ne répond pas.

La personne a l'arrivée nous attendait et nous a bien expliqué ce que comprenait le logement. Très agreable et sympathique. Le logement est tres bien équipée, rien de ne manque, tout est bien pensé.

The view and location of Faja Grande is beautiful. As was Flores as a whole.

I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews but I feel a need to write this one in the hope the owner reads this. The house urgently needs renovation: the doors and widows don't close properly and as a result can't hold out the insects and bugs. There was not a lot of light. One of the shower head was broken and sprayed water everywhere. There is a difference between 'rustic feel' and 'outdated'. But the biggest problem for us was the fact that we found several cockroaches in different rooms of the house which points to poor hygiene. When we reported this, we simply were told to spray some bug spray ourselves. We did so in every room to kill the roaches and cleaned them up. Frankly, it was not up to us to resolve this problem and would have liked some involvement from the owner to act on this problem. We were dispointed.

We had mixed feelings about our stay. On the positive side, the accommodation delivered exactly what we were looking for — a charming rustic style, a very romantic atmosphere, and truly beautiful surroundings. It felt peaceful and unique, and we appreciated the overall vibe of the place.

However, there were a few downsides. The interior, especially the kitchen area, was quite dark, which made it less comfortable for cooking or spending time indoors in the evenings. While there was a washing machine available (a big plus), there was only enough detergent provided for a single wash, and local shops had very limited options. We also encountered large bugs on a couple of occasions, which was a bit unsettling. Lastly, the water pressure in the shower was inconsistent, especially with hot water.

Nos encantó todo. La casa, la limpieza, su ubicación, etc. Hemos tenido muchísima suerte habiendo elegido este sitio. Tenía mis dudas después de leer los otros comentarios, pero para nada. Todos los días que hemos estado han sido perfectos!
