Apartments Carera 42

We are quite sure room is infested with bed bugs. We realised it after two days as we could feel the bites at night-time and see the weals on our body in the morning. On the third day, after we got certain about the fact, we reported it to the hosts very politely, but they behaved in a totally absurd way. At first they asked for proofs; after searching all the room, finally we could get one bug on camera (it was not easy at all as they are only few millimetres long and hide from sunlight), sent the photo, together with some other showing our weals and the dirt in the room (floor must not have been swept for weeks). At that point they argued that it might be a mosquito, or a flying ant (!). They said they'd call a company (ZZJZ) to have the room checked: if they found evidence of bed bugs the hosts would refund us of the cost of the days we couldn't spend there, otherwise we would get nothing. Besides, this was on Friday and the inspection was set on next Monday. They offered us to move to another room temporarily, but only from the following day. We replied we couldn't stay there any longer as we had not been able to sleep over the past two nights because of the bites (I got about 100 on my legs) and asked for a full refund in relation to the great annoyance. Their reply was that our claim was a fake, which is complete madness: 1) we paid the room in advance for 10 days and left it after 4, 2) in order to escape from that place we had to find quickly another accomodation so that our staying in Rovinj costed twice as much, 3) we wasted our holiday time with this "parasite issue" instead of relaxing on the beach. However, we asked to be present during the inspection of ZZJZ in order to show them what we got, but the hosts didn't let us. In the end they announced no parasites were found (no wonder as they had 2 days to sweep the dirt) end gave us no refund. Really disappointing.

The property was fantastic! So well set up and the addition of a beautiful terrace to use any time, bicycles, a laundry and dryer made it so very comfortable. Then there was the town of Rovinj itself…stunning and the easiest place to spend time exploring. Our host was so accomodating and generous in every aspect and made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and safe. We could store our luggage for the morning before our afternoon bus departure. He also carried our bags downstairs! Thank you so much… this will be the first of many trips to Rovinj. Angela

I could not fault the apartment in any way.

The location is perfectly in the centre and there is a very nice terrace you can use for breakfast or a drink. The owner speaks English, is extremely sympathetic, positive, helpful and a really nice person. Uncommon in Croatia.

We didn't have a problem with it but the stairs are narrow, very steep and difficult to pass. Impossible for older people or too all and big. Beds are also small and short so you need to take it into consideration if you are oversize or tall (>170cm). Shower is small as well.

Out host was very kind to us - he helped us with everything (parking, bags, welcome drinks :) ), the location of the apartment is simply perfect as well as the city itself!

Host was very nice and helpful. Carried our suitcase to the room and showed us around. There were bikes available to use and laundry facilities. Everything was clean and well presented. Location was also great. We were able to walk everywhere. We had a great time in beautiful Rovinj.

Nothing. We loved Rovinj and our accommodation.
