"The worst Booking.com experience I've had"

1.0

- apartment is spacious

This was the worst experience I've had on Booking.com. When me and my mother arrived at the property at 1am, the person who let us in explained that since we had not made a 'special request', we would only have access to 1 bedroom – despite having paid for the entire 2bedroom apartment (and not at a cheap price). The second bedroom had literally been locked and had no linen. The worst part was the person who let us in didn't have the key to open the door! This was despite paying for an entire apartment with 2 rooms and was a terrible start to our stay. The apartment manager eventually opened the second bedroom, but this was such a strange problem (and a horrible one to deal with at 1am/2am after a long flight) and one caused entirely by their strange process. It only got solved after I had a late night phone call with the person who owns the apartment - the guest shouldn't have to do this to get access to a bed to sleep in. We had a similar issue the day after. Since the apartment is quite remote, we decided to rent a car. We asked the host/team if we had access the car par they said yes, and that we could use the keys we were given on arrival. We then rented a car and followed someone into the car park for the night. The morning after, we received a message asking us when we could pick up the car park keys. It turns out we had never been the right keys and as a result, spent an entire morning locked in the car park with no way out until the apartment manager turned up. This was a complete waste of everyones time and like the bedroom issue, is something that is entirely avoidable. Just leave the keys in the apartment and let the guests self-serve. The apartment was fine, but was poorly located and the Jacuzzi (which we paid a premium for) was really dirty. I would not recommend staying here. Be prepared to get charged €100+ in cash for bed linen too...
