Luxury 1920s Bank Loft, Art Gallery & Music Space in Tomales, CA

Great location in the small town of Tomales. Close to Dillons Beach and a breakfast spot right across the street! Neat and tidy space with everything that we needed! Had a fantastic night sleep too!

Smoke alarm chirped the entire time I was there. Told it was on top of a cupboard. Does a 70 year old woman stand on a plexiglass chair or haul the 8 foot ladder leaning against the wall up the stairs to fix it? TV would not connect to internet. Internet service was spotty and could not be maintained on telephone. No sink in the bathroom. Gag reflex worked overtime having to brush your teeth in a smelly kitchen sink. No hairdryer. Cheap plastic mirror under shelf makes doing your hair and make up difficult. The heating system is inadequate for the draughty windows. Note the bedroom is upstairs and I tripped on the last step at 3 am in the morning using the bathroom. Furnishings are hardly luxury. As a fellow vacation rental owner, this unit was extremely disappointing. The devil is in the details and this needs a serious redesign, maintenance and weatherization.

We loved Not A Bank! The old bank aesthetic makes for a unique stay. Plus, the artwork was great and the musical instruments were fun to have around. Tomales and the surrounding area is lovely.

Amazing stay for two people. The pullout couch for the third person could have been more comfortable, but it was fine! Other than that, no complaints!

Property was like spending the night in a museum. Fun playful environment.

The washroom configuration was awkward. Kitchen sink served as bathroom sink. Not a problem, just awkward.

The size of the property was huge. It had so much fun stuff inside including a baby grand and an art collection. Everything was beautifully labeled with information and instructions.

Could use a wifi booster.

There was enough convenient amenities provided to help the stay feel more at ease. Directions and labels are clear and easy to comprehend. A lot of unique and cool things to keep you entertained. Easy to access and close to near by activities and destinations.

Even though we followed directions, The Heating system had limited circulation and took longer than expected to heat up the building, some areas remained cold. Cold enough that our food cooled down very quickly. You’re on a Main Street so, you’ll hear a lot of traffic going through the day/night.

A fun and different experience staying in a bank converted into a rental. The host is meticulous with instructions & QR codes to make your stay a breeze.
