Nuit au calme et reposante
There was a communication issue between the hotel and Expedia, however I was offered a free upgrade to a better room. The staff were very accommodating to all my requests, the apartment was probably the best I've stayed in including a living room with kitchenette, 2 double bedrooms, bathroom and rest room. There was also a balcony with table and seating. Complimentary water was provided. There was even a lazyboy recliner. We did buy some drinks from the bar, be aware that you had to take the drinks back to your room rather than drink them at the bar.
Lovely room and very clean, however kettle was provided in room but no cups and only 1 sleeve of coffee, so not able to make any drinks. The restaurant was in the senior persons complex and set evening menu very limited. Had to find alternative place to eat. Staff on check in were unhelpful, key fob supplied did not work and was told they would come when they had time. We had to find an alternative way to get into the chateau. When this was booked we did not know this was part of a senior persons complex, this should have been made clearer as the pictures only show the chateau and not the new double floored building next to it. The bed was lovely and comfortable, however sleep disturbed by elephants that appeared to have accommodated the room above as every foot step and door opening at 6.30am could be easily heard.

Perfect stay other than signage to access through the gates and where to check in - this was frustrating after a long drive. It is located in a large garden along with a care home and it was difficult to locate where the reception was and where the building was. We arrived late but we were welcomed by a very very helpful and courteous receptionist. Now we know where everything is we will definitely stay there again.
Check was confusing, we had to go to the retirement home reception. Room was great, beautiful bathroom. No nearby eateries, ordered in. Don’t bother booking the breakfast,he’d to keep asking for things like plates.
Billed as having a restaurant, but they had none. No restaurant closer than a 1/4 mile radius. Breakfast was not worth having. The main facility was a seniors retirement home! Old hotel building is nice but common areas could use a good cleaning.
Beautiful Chateau but a moment of panic when told to enter the Seniors Living Home in the same grounds. This should be clearer in the description. The reception and pool/sauna, bar and breakfast are in the Senior Residence. This said everything was perfect and very comfortable. Only a few issues, the shower went cold very quickly for both myself and my husband. Also, extra pillows for the bed and some instructions for the TV would be great . I’m usually pretty good but couldn’t figure the sound out.
