FIR TREE COTTAGE - Cosy 3 Bed Cottage in Penrhyn Bay with Beautiful Sea Views and Access to Snowdonia

Clean, comfortable and excellent location

Really homely, warm and immaculately clean on arrival. Sea views and a lovely lawned garden. Underfloor heating downstairs. Well thought out kitchen - everything we might’ve needed was there. Quieter bay, (Penrhyn) excellent location for exploring the North Wales and Snowdonia region. Lots of baby seals on the beach within minutes walk. Great, timely communication from the owner 😊 Easy off street parking. Great that the adjacent property can be booked together with Fir Tree Cottage - definitely coming back with Grandma!

Terraced, so prepare for occasional neighbour noise…Although this should probably have occurred to me before booking. Free WIFI and smart TV, but TV a little laggy compared to home. Be patient 😉 Shower was hot and decent pressure but fairly small cubicle. Snug fit for sturdy types!

Convenient location. Off-road parking. Lovely cafe at the end of the road.

Unfortunately we arrived on the coldest day of the year. The house was cold. Host did send someone around to check the central heating. Fire was lovely but the house lost heat very quickly. Radiators too small for the size of the rooms downstairs so kitchen/dining room never warmed up. Some written instructions for operating the gas fire would be handy as we weren't familiar with the controls. House would be perfect any other season but wouldn't recommend for a winter trip.

Great location, clean property, good facilities

One pain point is the requirement to pay a security deposit (250£) by bank transfer if one makes a last minute booking. This wasn't mentioned in the listing and I was waiting at the property to get the code for the lock which wasn't given until the money was transferred. I can understand the reasons for such a deposit is taken, but its usually done through the system that's used for booking. The requirement of a security deposit was mentioned in a message after booking but I noticed it as we set off and I thought it would be blocked from my credit card used for booking. In the message it wasnt mentioned that the security deposit would have to be done via a bank transfer. In the end I paid the money so that my 3 year old girls are warm inside the property and we didnt bring the property down and the host paid the money back after their cleaning staff confirmed the condition of the property the next day. But as anyone could imagine it was stressful and it could all have been avoided if the ad was updated with this condition of a security payment by bank transfer.

It’s peaceful location by the beach.Welcoming cosy feel with lovely furniture and incredible kitchen equipment.It was beautifully cleaned,very spacious and the beds were very comfortable .The nonunion was the fire in the living room .
