Metropolitan - 203 Millbrook Road

The place was amazing for our stay. There was complimentary tea and coffee section in the kitchen and shampoo and things in the bathroom. There was a kitchen and first bedroom with 2x single beds leading off. The other way it lead to a lounge, bathroom and main bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped with items for cooking with. The beds was so comfortable. The lounge had comfy sofa and dinning room with soft rugs. The shower was powerful and good. Overall an excellent property and we enjoyed the whole time staying there.

My children didn’t like how steep the stairs was but I thought they were ok.

Great communication with the hosts. Flat was clean and tidy. Comfy bed.

Flat smelt very strongly of food and unfortunately the neighbours TV/flat underneath kept us up most of the night.

Separate bedrooms for parents and kids. WiFi and streaming services were good. Location was ideal. Prompt repair to leaky ceiling. Nicely decorated throughout, although kitchen and bathroom could do with some updating. Off street parking directly outside.

Steep stairs and multiple levels throughout flat. Leaky ceiling. No mirror in main bedroom or near plug sockets. Sofa was really uncomfortable with such a low back. Cooking equipment was very limited, had to buy ourselves some new mixing bowls and measuring cups. Could've used some more baking trays. Shelving in bathroom would have been helpful. Very noisy neighbours late into the evening.

Very sunny, big window lounge with plenty space - nice and airy. Good sized kitchen. Very clean!

It had everything you need for a short stay. The hosts where responsive and polite. The location is good for Southampton (I live here my fiance was visiting from abroad so wanted to stay somewhere close to city centre to show her the good bits of the city) you won't find more value for money. Richard and Nina are clearly very responsible hosts as they showed up to clean literally right on checkout as we were waiting for a taxi. The single beds appeared to be very comfortable when I laid on them. There was a lot of refreshments provided. Facilities to wash your clothes are sufficient. The entertainment facilities where good.

The double bed wasn't the most comfortable, if they replaced this with a cheap solid pine frame with a headboard would be better(it's not terrible it's just not the best) If the kitchen had a dishwasher it would be nice (this is just personal preference) I would also recommend some plastic chopping boards as wooden aren't great for meat. The couch I would recommend replacing as if you sit for longer than a couple of hours it does get uncomfortable due to the low back. I'd also recommend changing the shower unit to one with more accurate temperature control as someone with eczema I find it difficult to find a comfortable temperature that wasn't too hot or too cold, and my only other gripe was it rained a lot during our stay and I did notice some water dripping through the ceiling by the kitchen.

Property had a few issues when we first arrived, the owner went out of her way to sort most of the issues out, but it did mean we had to do an unexpected shop run just after we had arrived to get supplies that were missed. Very central location, great to have off street parking. Be aware the stairs up to the property are very steep. Great to be able to have the dog with us. Otherwise, good size rooms.

No supplies on arrival, but the owner did take steps to rectify most of this. Ceiling was leaking throughout the heavy rain that was there when we were staying.

Recently decorated and some nice new furnishings.

Dishonest and inaccurate description! Property is not as described. A number of the listed “facilities” are not available at the property. The property is in a residential location but the general state of the property needs repair. Broken windows, damp and unclean flooring. Because the property was not as described it’s very overpriced for the rate being charged.
