Eco-Friendly Stay - Barrow in Furness, Lake District

Very well equipped, comfortable house. Finished to a high standard.

No on site parking (which we knew about) but parked at a nearby carpark for a reasonable price. Taxis to the venue we visited were very reasonable.

Good size property for me and my family (2 parents, 3 adult children and 1 teenager) to stay in to visit family over Christmas. Reasonable price for number of people. Good level of kitchen equipment, good communication and info shared about the property in advance of stay. Modern contemporary decor. Eco focused.

Requested a 1 hour earlier check in and later check out which was accommodated. Requested bedding for bed settee which wasn’t left out so had to sort myself (putting cases on pillows etc on arrival). Bed settee could not accommodate 2 adults as too small. Had to hoover settee when opened settee into bed due to lots of crumbs in the fold - but poor when host knew we were using it as bed. Not enough seating in living area for number of guests. Settee could sit 3 of us comfortably rest of us had to sit on dining chairs which wasn’t very comfortable to watch tv. Mattresses were very bouncy- not to my liking but that is a personal preference thing. Stairs very steep and no bannister rail at all with very steep step into bathroom and metal type railing at top of stairs which was a little wobbly. would have been worried if had younger kids. We had adult with mobility issues who struggled without bannister rail. Light bulb out on landing which made stairs more precarious in night - luckily had brought a night light with me. Large stain to main bedroom ceiling which was unsightly and was worried that ceiling would leak if heavy rain. Area not great to walk out in but fine if you are using as a base and have car. No parking outside due to resident parking permits only - found free place to park on marsh street with 5 min walk back to property.

Location was terrible, book somewhere else. No ventilation, no fan provided. Netflix not working. Everything outside looked rundown.

It was tough to drive in and there was only one toilet.

Nothing

Someone else was at the property already. The host did apologise about the mess with the booking. Had no option but to look elsewhere.

The house is amazing

Small garden but didn't use anyways, the city itself is a bit of industrial
