Entire apartment castle view - 10 mins from reading station town centre

The location is good and, when you actually get inside the apartment, it's quite cozy (although quite bad traffic noise, with traffic lights right outside).

I don't know where to start... The host seemed very untrusting, sending repeated messages, asking for pics of ID and insisting on a videocall (for verification purposes!). The apartment building is very decrepit, with overgrown hedges and a front door that looks like it was last painted +50 years ago. When you get inside the building, the common areas are shocking (very dirty, very untidy, with a handwritten notice on the wall about the death of a tenant). The stairs at the back, down to the car parking space (a quagmire of mud) are very dangerous, with broken, wobbly paving slabs. After all this, the apartment itself isn't too bad (really quite cozy), although the fridge is filthy.
