insika is a lovely accomodation in basic Karoo style. Beautifully restored and now a retreat for the soul. Lovely outdoor area for a braai.

Everything, it was the perfect escape away and great opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. We saw the best stars, we have ever seen and lots of wild animals and birds 😀

There was some traffic noise with trucks as the unit is situated right next to the R62, but you get used to this quite quickly, apart from traffic noise, turn to your left and you see amazing sunsets and beautiful mountain views. Amazing outdoor shower with even more stunning views. Outdoor fire spot with loads of wood, grid, firelighters and a 400m walk to the Gamkas river. Will definitely be back for another visit. Even has a huge indoor braai for those cold winter nights. Offer a selection of Locally made honey, wines etc with an honesty box.

The Hot water was finicky, but learned that being a gas geyser, you 1st need to open the hot water fully, then adjust the temp with cold water. Other than the City Slicker learning curve, it is indeed a gem!
