"False sense of security ruined my vacation this property is not safe."

1.0

The property was almost as described minus the key safety features that were advertised and the outdoor laundry in the alley which I was not aware of. The property management company was very responsive and all of their people were very friendly. The hot tub was clean and regularly serviced.

On the night of July 22 or the early morning of July 23, my husband and I were robbed as we slept. My husband's wallet, which was on the nightstand in the master bedroom, and my wallet, which was in my purse on the dining room table, were both emptied of cash. Thankfully, no one was physically harmed, but the emotional and psychological impact on my family was profound. We spent almost the entirety of July 23 dealing with the aftermath, including filing police reports, waiting for the police, coordinating with your property management team to reset the lock code, and purchasing additional supplies to secure the windows and front door. We were unable to find another rental to stay in for the remainder of our planned trip and no one slept or was able to relax inside the rental after the incident. During our stay, we encountered several significant security concerns that exacerbated the situation: 1. Insufficient Window Locks: The property’s window locks were small metal twist locks, which are not secure enough, especially given the necessity to leave windows open in a non-air-conditioned property. The police believe the intruder(s) entered through one of these inadequately secured windows. I suggested that I would go to Ace Hardware to have dowels cut the property management company indicated they used to have dowels in the windows but they had disappeared and not been replaced. We did buy additional security and devote the residence for the duration of our stay. 2. Door Code Security: The door code provided upon our arrival was "0610". It raises the question of whether this code had been in use since June 10, 2024, compromising the security of the property. The replacement code was updated to be our checkout date 3. Absent Security Gate: There was a missing security gate, evidenced by the bolts from where the gate used to be in front of the staircase.
