Love this hotel, the staff are all welcoming friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The hotel feels homely at the same time you experience the creativity and personal touch of the owner. The decor is of a boutique hotel, there is stunning art in abundance inside, interesting architecture outside, and a mix of structure and wildness in the gardens, plenty of butterflies. As one would expect, the food in the restaurant was excellent, delicious, well presented, and the staff were polite and professional. This was my second visit, and I will always head here when coming anywhere near this area. Thank you again for a very enjoyable stay.

Loved the opulence. A collection, so much more than a hotel. Wonderfully curated and designed. The inclusive breakfast was very good and the staff were superb!

"Full of character, great location for visiting Bath, Avebury and the Cotswolds."

We liked the artistic and unique decor. High quality Mouseman furniture and David Bailey prints. The dining room was like dining in a orangery. Location was perfect for what we wanted to do. The staff were very professional.

The dinner menu choices consisted of beef, pork and venison, and not being meat eaters we had no choice for 3 of our 4 dinners other than gnocchi, and salmon fish cakes on our first night. We were a bit tired of gnocchi by the time we left. We stayed upstairs in the coach house where the lift was broken, with no sign of anyone coming to fix it, and a disconcerting smell of sewage when we entered the building. Fortunately our room was through a door and down a corridor so we could get away from it. The grounds were lovely but had nowhere to sit.

Excellent value-for-money stay at The Rudloe. A modern day coaching inn quirkily decorated with eccentric design elements that I found charming. More is more (maximalism) hereWe had to have a 1-night pit stop here after driving down from North Wales. And after a good night's rest on great beds, we proceeded onto London. I don't understand though what some reviewers are complaining about here... about the supplements needed to be paid for the higher quality dishes we've selected at dinner and breakfast. We found them perfectly reasonable and happily paid. Our room rates generously included dinner and breakfasts so pay those supplements if you want steak! Also, Juno (Italian guy) meant us out at the front when we came to check-in and served us too at dinner. Now he's an employee you'd want to keep. Gave us champagne on the house despite us also ordering a round of cocktails! Thanks for going the extra mile, Juno.

Lighting is dim. Would appreciate a powerful uplighter or high wattage lamp if possible.

The Garden . Decor in the dining room. Food is good and good value.

Sitting rooms in the main house smelt damp and musty. Not an inviting place to relax. I feel his hotel is a means to an end..... somewhere to finance the owner's collection of art and artifacts. It compares unfavourablely to our stays in the Pig for example where you feel a warm welcome and that staff are genuinely keen that you are comfortable and enjoy your stay

Room and bathroom

The breakfast was restricted to one item. Having to pay £2 subsidy was an insult my deal was free breakfast included. Cash not accepted pay £2 by card. Pathetic

"Great. No issues. Really enjoyed my stay"

Great breakfast choices. Liked that it wasn’t buffet. Loved the art and decor. Clean comfy room. Polite friendly staff. Easy to check in and out. Great location for getting into Bath.

Had to wait 10 mins or so to check in, but that was fine after a car journey. Just sat down and read emails. Lots to look at whilst waiting. A coffee machine in the bedroom would have been preferable to Nescafé instant coffee. The coach house has noise from the road if windows open. Didn’t bother me as I had ear plugs. Just to be aware of.

Quirky , unusual interior. Lovely wild garden.

Lift not working. Laundry from previous guests left in our room. Poor customer service - inflexible staff.
