We didn’t actually get a chance to stay as when we arrived back to our suite after dinner our rooms were very strongly smelling of smoke. Probably from a neighbouring suite which all had their own log fires. We did not light ours, although we had been warned when we were shown to our room we should close the door if we were to light it, which makes me think they have had issues before. The hotel said there was nothing they could do, and because there were no carbon monoxide alarms we chose to leave rather than sleep in a room full of smoke. They refunded us our room cost at 10.30pm and we had to find alternative accommodation. I was so disappointed as we had decided to treat ourselves on the last full night of our holiday. I had big expectations and was left feeling let down. The advertised wellness area only consisted of a tiny sauna which was full and a steam room which was off. The annex we were in was actually half a mile away, so we had to drive as it wasn’t a lit walkway between the annex and chateau

Il castello è bellissimo, la struttura, le camere, il ristorante , il giardino, tutto curato nei minimi particolari. Il personale addetto al ricevimento professionale e accogliente. La colazione molto buona con prodotti di qualità, Lucia la signora addetta alla petit dejuner simpaticissima e disponibile per suggerimenti e informazioni. Abbiamo cenato al ristorante, qualità del cibo e del servizio di alto livello. Una esperienza positiva da ripetere assolutamente in diverse stagioni.
