Eclectic Barn - Pergola & Dog-Friendly Garden

We attended a wedding at wellington barn and this house was 6 minutes away. Apart from staying at the venue, I think we were the closest to the wedding. The house is beautiful, very spacious and has many rooms to accommodate all the family. The beds were comfy, made with duvets and blankets as well as leaving towels for everyone. We requested a cot and that was supplied as well as high chairs and baby gates. The garden is lovely and an option to use the bbq if needed. The house had Wi-Fi which is always a hit with the kids. The showers are powerful and hot.

The stairs and floorboards upstairs are soooo squeaky. When you need the loo in the night you risk waking everyone up. The front door doesn’t close without being locked with a key. There are lots of lovely quirky items on display in the house which is great for decor but not great for children.

Perfect location only eight minute drive from Avebury and 40 minute drive to Stonehenge. Beautiful location, and a stunning backyard. It was enjoyable to watch the birds come to drink water and feed in the backyard. Very spacious and whimsical interior. Just a fun place to stay overall.

Size and quirkiness!

Great art and decor, lovely set up and garden area, interesting area with lively walks and pubs and activities for everyone, roomy to sit together, eat and relax and good parking. Great lighting and all amenities easily accessible.

Shower upstairs not screwed to wall and loose, tap in en-suite downstairs very loose, no where to put muddy boots and coats, nails in double room floorboards cut foot as not nailed down properly-nails protruding, no carpet on stairs at all. Stairs very very creaky, no introduction to property and advertising activities in Cornwall leaflets. Many things in cupboards were dirty such as utensils and drinking glasses smeary. Garden furniture left outside and ripped/ disintegrated. Doors stored in twin room in floor under cushions, strange in a small room. Why no welcome biccies or local produce as welcome and no welcome written pack at all.

Lovely big property, lots of space for everyone, a pretty garden and lots of character. Beds were comfy with clean linen and towels provided. Kitchen was well equipt. Lots of parking space. Very good value for money.

There aren’t really enough bathrooms for the full occupancy, especially as one bathroom is an en-suite and so not always convenient to use. The doors to the accommodation had to be closed with a key so it was a bit tricky logistically when some people wanted to be inside and some outside. Lastly, the downstairs bedroom radiator couldn’t be turned down so it was much too hot.
