Host Wise - Sweet Sunny Flat with Balcony

O acolhimento poderia ter sido melhor: apesar de ter recebido mensagens a informar disponibilidade para ajudar com qualquer problema ou dúvidas as respostas às minhas tentativas de contacto eram escassas ou nulas tendo sempre precisado de ligar para ver os meus problemas atendidos. O código para a recolha da chave estava estava incorrecto e a incerteza de quando a situação poderia ser resolvida não foi agradável. Além disto, o estrado da cama estava partido (desconfortável na altura do descanso), o travão da porta estava junto à cama, tornando-se fácil tropeçar e magoar como me aconteceu várias vezes. A reserva foi para 3 pessoas e o apartamento tinha uma mesa pequena preparada para acomodar duas pessoas (tivemos de improvisar durante as refeições).

The location and the apartment itself are nice for this price and according to the high season. The flat is clean and well equipped in general. The most important thing air conditioner, it's very important in summer.

My reservation was cancelled on the second day of my stay due to the HostWise manager's failure to respond to Booking.com Support. One day before my trip, I contacted Booking.com Support because the HostWise manager had been ignoring my messages both on Booking.com and through other communication channels (WhatsApp, company email, etc.). I had not received any check-in instructions, and the link they provided for submitting guest information was not working. I therefore requested the necessary information and assistance. Eventually, the manager responded and sent me the check-in instructions, allowing me to access the apartment without any issues. I spent the first night there as planned. However, on the second day of my stay, my reservation was unexpectedly cancelled. I did not cancel it myself, and I have no idea how this happened. Shortly afterward, the manager called me and informed me that I had to leave the apartment immediately. I was shocked and asked why I was being asked to leave, considering that I had already paid for two nights, was legally occupying the apartment, and still had the keys. I also explained that I had not cancelled the reservation and that the cancellation could have been caused by a technical error. The manager replied that she did not care, stating that the apartment had already been booked for that day by other guests. She further warned that she would call the police if I did not vacate the apartment and remove my belongings immediately. I asked whether HostWise could provide alternative accommodation so that my family and I could relocate without disruption. However, she stated that I would need to contact Booking.com Support to determine why the reservation had been cancelled and that I could not simply move to another HostWise property. According to her, I would have to make a new reservation and pay again. (Additional details and supporting evidence are provided in the attached documents.)

Deveria ter mais ventilação na casa de banho. A sua internet não está a funcionar, ela liga mas não trabalha.

Well-appointed studio flat with good transport connections to Porto centre, airport, etc.

Studio Flat not as advertised, sheer misrepresentation. SWEET SUNNY FLAT WITH BALCONY: it is in fact dark, on the ground-floor, facing directly onto pedestrian pavement. Unsafe frosted glass window without safety grill; if opened properly anyone can reach in or event step in. It is dark and feels slightly claustrophobic. Suitable only for sleeping not for daylight use. Owner did not respond to query re balcony. In fact owner sends cosy welcoming words but remains illusive. Place managed by HOSTWISE who suggested paying more for a flat higher up in the building, if available. Disappointed also by Booking.com who accepts no responsibility for misrepresentation of rental offer. Even one of the photos of the building shows the two upper floors in clear light and the ground floor slightly darkened, as if to imply that it has nothing to do with the flat being advertised. Suggest that prospective clients of Hostwise or Booking.com don't take their adds as factual, but are very careful and ask direct questions as to the veracity of the wording and to what may be withheld. When I mentioned the name SWEET SUNNY FLAT WITH BALCONY, I was told that that is the name of the rental and does not mean that all flats have balconies. The pictures are photos from a first floor flat with balcony. In the add, patios are mentioned, NOT balconies, so one immediately assumes that all have balconies. It is a rental add that is designed to mislead.
