The price. The room itself was lovely. It was well located.

We found a cockroach in the bathroom. Staff provided insect repellent to kill it but did not offer further help. The shower door broke on us, getting stuck in the mechanism. The staff shrugged their shoulders when we reported this to them.

Good location N not too expensive. The owner is nice

It belongs to a Chinese man so many Chinese here who smoke even in their room I could smell them

Near the city center, good location.

No safe, no pluggs near the bed

Decent location, good Wifi, fairly comfy bed, really good A/C, hosts were nice and spoke good English.

Terrible sound proofing (to be fair it’s an old building with shutter windows and wood shutter “blinds,” got woken up every day at 5:40am by neighbours hammering and a rooster crowing); my doorknob was pretty much broken and made me worry someone could easily break into our room; there were ants in the bathroom when we first got in there; stayed there 3 nights and no one made up our room, gave us fresh towels, soap refills, more toilet paper, nothing until we asked; the white bedding looked like it had yellow sweat stains on it, but hard to tell in the light; bathroom was dingy, disgusting, hasn’t been properly cleaned in years and has been DIYed to death, and occasionally some terrible sewage smells would come up the shower drain; even though there’s a “shower unit,” my room had a hole in the bottom part that would block water, so the rest of the bathroom still flooded; overall, the room was just dirty. Literal cobwebs hanging from walls all over, grime on the bathroom tiles and walls, thick dust on the pipe coming from the air conditioner… place is filthy and if they want to compete, they need to do a lot better. It’s a place with potential but even for Laos, this is bad. Also no refrigerators in rooms.
