The tub wouldn’t drain when I took my first shower. I was in 1.5” of dirty water at the end of my 5-8 minute shower, so I reached in and pulled out a big clump of long black hair and smaller amounts of some short brown hair. The cleaners should check the drain as part of their cleaning duties. Booking. com sent me emails in a bizarre format, with a tiny link way at the bottom left of the email. I didn’t see it because, in order to read the message, I had to expand the email to fill the screen - which made the link non-visible. So I spent 20 minutes pulling out the gross, greasy clog with my tweezers before I took my next shower, then threw out the tweezers. They still need a plumber to clear the drain completely. Booking messed up the emails, but I find it VERY hard to believe that none of the guests before me mentioned the standing water at the end of their shower - really? It was months of build-up! Buy a Tub Shroom, they’re like $13. I didn’t discover the portal link until I was about to check out, and I requested a refund of the cleaning fee because of my effort to clean the clog. They refused because “you should have contacted us”. So I lose - too bad, so sad. I’m sure Booking won’t care either, but I’ll bring it up with them too. Other issues: - the front door wasn’t completely closed when I got back one evening, so anyone could have wandered in - the cold water in the bathroom didn’t work properly. After 5 seconds the pipes would bang and it would slow to a trickle. Not great for brushing your teeth - they had 2 Airwick solid units plugged in, which were thankfully empty. I’m extremely sensitive to smells and chemicals, and everything I use at home needs to be fragrance free and hypoallergenic. Strong, unnatural scents make me feel like my throat is closing and I’m going to choke. Scent-sitivity is a real issue for many people - unless the place smells bad, there is zero reason to use a fake smell.
