Wynkoop at Carlton: Taste of Europe, Walk to Wineries, Dog Friendly

Nice location. Good for walking to town.

This was our second stay at Wynkoop and we were once again - not disappointed! This is one the most well appointed, pet friendly accommodations I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. There are many thoughtful details throughout the home. It’s an easy to walk to wine tasting options and restaurants.

House was cute. Location was great. We were able to walk around town easily.

Landscaping had not been maintained at all. Dead plants and weeds surrounded the house. Lights on the very steep stairs to the second bedroom were not working.

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights in July for wine tasting in Willamette Valley. Carlton is a great choice - centrally located to visit many wineries all within a short drive. Nice restaurants are within walking distance and there is even a small general story to pick up extra items. House is comfortable, clean and spacious. Hosts took time to add thoughtful touches that make a stay pleasant and memorable. They were very responsive and I loved they don't have a long list of instructions of what you must do before leaving. This house is a great choice that permits plenty of exploring in wine country during the day and a restful location to spend the evening.

No one could predict our trip would fall during the hottest spike in temperatures for Oregon this summer. Who knew Oregon could reach 104 degrees! This older home is filled with character and charm but only has 2 window air conditioners in each bedroom. They did cool the bedrooms adequately but were noisy and made it difficult to sleep. The rest of the house was quite warm. Fortunately Oregon evening temperatures cool down each night but the temperature in the house was my least favorite thing about our stay. Also the stairs up to the 2nd floor/attic are very steep and narrow. It would be difficult to carry a suitcase up. It didn't matter to us as we were only there for 2 nights and it was just the 2 of us. We just left our luggage in the entry way, but this might not be a viable solution for others.

Very quaint feel. Special touches ready for us such as snacks and robes. Appreciated the air conditioning. Appreciated a washer and dryer on hand. Books available to read, nice assortment. Kitchen just right with dishes, pots, pans, coffee, tea, etc.

Well appointed historical home in the heart of downtown Carlton. Owner has left thoughtful touches throughout to make yours and your pet’s stay as comfortable as possible. Lovely shaded, fenced backyard for relaxing with family, friends and pouches.
