1 Bake Cottage Serenity - Premium Coastal Retreat in Looe, Cornwall

This is a beautifully renovated property in an ideal location in West Looe close to a vibrant local pub The Jolly Sailor which hosts sea shanties and other events weekly, and well served by a fabulous local deli / Londis which is open late and a Spar all within a few hundred metres. Parking overnight at Millpool carpark, just a few minutes walk away, is very reasonably priced and even more good value for a weekly ticket when bought in advance from the council website. It is possible to use a loading bay adjacent to the cottage to unload and load up your car. The cottage is spacious and welcoming with fantastic kitchen and living areas. The outdoor space at the front of the cottage gets the morning sun and is cool for an al fresco evening meal. The decoration and soft furnishes give the whole cottage an air of calm and luxury. The wifi is reliable and the door lock, which only has a code, no key, is really convenient. The bathroom is stunningly appointed with a spacious shower unit. The cottage is located just off the quay at West Looe, and not far up the hill (which is still quite gentle at that point). It is ideally placed for walks to Hannafore, Talland and beyond, or a short walk, or water taxi, across to East Looe, with its range of shops, pubs and restaurants and walks towards Millendreath.

We got the feeling that 1 Bake Cottage is a recent addition to the rental market and the couple of things we were lacking at the cottage could be quickly remedied by the owners e.g. some sort of coffee machine as mentioned by other guests. VERY disappointed to note that the handrail on the upper part of the staircase has been missing since May 2024. This is a very real safety risk for guests using the wooden staircase, and a serious risk to the owner's public liability insurance.

It is a great location in town, quiet but close enough to everything, and you do not need to climb the hill every time you get home!

This is not related to the property, but there were boat fuel leaks in the river each day, polluting the water and that was very unpleasant and takes a lot away from the quaintness of the village.

It was so beautifully clean and well equipped. Location was perfect!

The details and decor was amazing and a really enjoyable stay!!

We stay in short lets almost every week around the uk and once a month in looe. This was one of the very best. Only down side was parking. But you can park about 100m away and pay £2 from 6pm-8am

The property was beautiful. Amazing refurb- no expense spared and looked amazing.

Did expect a slightly bigger outside space and with a dog it didn’t really work. Seagulls used the patio for target practice at night so we needed to scrub the area before we could use it.
