Hotel Lexen Newhall & Santa Clarita - Near Six Flags Magic Mountain

Location, private, extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Mattress is starting to breakdown.

This was our second time staying at the Lexen. We chose it mostly because of the location since we did not have a car this time around. The location is great if you don't have a car because the Metrolink train is a block away (super convenient to get to Burbank, Glendale, downtown LA) and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance. Other things we liked were the very comfortable beds. Also, the staff are lovely.

Our first time staying at the Lexen was in early 2021, when the hotel was new. Five years later, it has not aged well: bathrooms and the facilities feel a little run down and feel older than only five years. It wouldn't be a big deal, except that prices have also gone up since then, so it's not a great value. Also, so that others are aware, as I mentioned above, there's a commuter train across the street that goes by once an hour (each way) and starts early in the morning, so you'll hear the train horns. Ask for a room in the back if available, it makes a big difference.

The room was clean, comfortable beds and the patio area lead to a communal courtyard. Also the location is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping.
