I had to check in myself and couldn’t reach by phone the reception when I was checking in.

Staff means the most in this business and here staff is very good - friendly, responsive, hospitable.

Great place for a romantic weekend! Friendly staff, comfy room, good breakfast. Not far from the main resort as well as from Daugavpils

Breakfast was good.

It’s a very badly managed hotel. First, there are two hotels that start with the same name - Silene Resort & Spa and Silene Resort & Spa Egles Villa. So when you book you are thinking that your will be staying in a spa hotel but in reality it is a hotel in the middle of the Silene village without any spa, restaurant or immediate access to the lake. Of course this is NOT communicated to customers before. The hotels have the same owner but are at least 5 km apart! We could not check in as there was nobody at Egle villa (despite showing 24|7 reception), even the given phone number was not working, had to call the resort. Had to wait until someone comes from the resort to get to the room. Also, they did not want to serve breakfast in the same building despite saying that there is a restaurant. It would be acceptable if this was communicated before that breakfast is in another building but not if they just present it as a fact. We negotiated breakfast in the same building, other guests could benefit from it but they were not even informed. The bed was of a very bad quality. No fridge in the room, no tea/coffee possibilities. Very low quality service except by the lady serving breakfast. The dinner in the resort was Ok but there you have to pay for everything, even parking in the middle of forest is 5 eur. Renting prices of sports equipment are totally unacceptable e.g. 20 eur for a volleyball court for 1 h. We talked to a lady that had stayed in the place before and confirmed that it has always been a mess and nobody cares about customers there. I had asked for the contacts of the manager, of course I never received them. Definitely NOT a 4* hotel.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean rooms with air conditioning, comfy beds. Small supermarket nearby. Just around 4km away is lake side resort where we spent all the afternoon away from the city (swimming, enjoying fresh air, and happy kids)
