Host Donna was very responsive and helpful. House was exceptionally clean and facilities in the house were excellent. Great location. Beds were very comfortable and there were flat screen TVs in both bedrooms.

We were only given the code for the key safe 1 1/2 hours before check in, after I had sent an email reminder and had to call the booking agent. The house was cold on arrival. It was just over 16C. It took a long time to warm up. We were travelling with a 6 month old baby and so not being sure about checking in and being in a cold house for the first evening was not ideal. The house was pleasantly heated during the rest of our stay.

The aspects of the cottage and the quality of the whole offering. located next to a very good pub for meals was a bonus

Very little - would have liked blinds to all Ground Floor windows as privacy after dark was lacking (given proximity to Pub Car Park)

The kitchen. Has huge and impressive looking as it was it wasn’t fit for purpose !! A half size fridge and a countertop freezer. The oven was also too small. I had Christmas dinner to cook and really struggled as there wasn’t enough space. We ended up getting an air fryer in so we could actually make a meal, unfortunately the fridge didn’t work and non of the food or drink stayed cold. For such a big kitchen at a self catering property, I did not find the kitchen functional at all. I know a lot of guests stay and eat out at places like this, however we do like to make our own food and I just couldn’t do it here very sadly.

The 2 bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully clean and well appointed, well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen area contained adequate equipment to prepare simple meals, the living area had sufficient seating for 5. The house was well laid out with a useful downstairs toilet and underfloor heating on the ground floor. Although the house was cold when we arrived the heating controls were easy to use and it soon warmed up despite the freezing conditions outside.

The sofa bed provided for a fifth guest in the study was a bad joke, being tiny and rock hard with no mattress and made up for use with no bottom sheet. It was impossible to sleep on so the living area sofa had to be used as a bed. When sitting together in the evening to chat 4 of us had to sit in a row on the sofa - the room layout clearly set up to focus on the TV. An extra chair to enable more of us to face each other would have been appreciated. Only the very ends of rolls of toilet paper left from previous guests were provided for us, no new rolls had been left out which made me anxious as previous reviews had led me to believe this was not something we needed to provide ourselves. Following my complaint we were provided with access to the key to the cupboard where the spare toilet rolls etc had been left in store rather than being put out in the bathroom drawers for us. Not all pans provided were suitable for use on the induction hob. The crisper drawer of the fridge filled with water, soaking salads and boxes of eggs we had stored in there.

The location is lovely and quiet down a private road beautiful detached house high quality fixtures and fittings spotless clean

Lovely location, lovely private road. Easy access to beautiful countryside. Comfortable, clean cottage with nice 'open plan' downstairs.

With such a modern lovely property, just a surprise no USB sockets in plug sockets. No salt or pepper!
