Luxe Coastal Retreat w/ Hot Tub

Nice and spacious, was nice having a hot tub, even though it wasn’t installed until the second to last day as they had to order a new one. Location was great, very close to the beach and the centre

Carpets were all filthy, personally in an Airbnb/rental property investing in laminate flooring may be a better idea as we had a really hard time walking around to the point we purchased sandals/flip flops and a bunch of cleaning products for peace of mind. Additionally, one of the boilers weren’t working so we had to contact the host in order to get their plumber to come several times, in which the last time I was shown how to correct the issue as it kept on going off. Some of the walls were filled with plaster and unpainted and the sink/bath on the top floor kept on getting blocked and not draining. Some of the beds and sofas had marks all over them. Overall made our stay unpleasant other than the location being close to the beach

Short walk into town.

When we arrived it was disgusting. There were several large bags of rubbish outside and they had spilt rubbish over the whole pavement around the house. The front door had a massive mark on it like it had been bashed in with something. The house smelt awful, like old cooking and damp (the lower in the house you go, the worse the damp smell gets.) The carpets were filthy everywhere, covered in multiple stains and trodden in dirt. We all wore sandals inside for the whole stay. This place does not look like the pictures. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls and in places chunks of it have come off. There are mould and damp stains on the walls and ceilings and there is black mould around the bath. In a lot of the rooms the mattresses are larger than the bed bases so hang off the sides, and the bed bases have gross stains on them. The carpet doesn’t fit the hallway so half of it is rolled up against the wall. The lights around the hot tub didn’t work because the plug was half snapped off, the blinds on the first floor were broken so you couldn’t have dark to sleep in. There were 3 forks available for a house sleeping 10 people. It’s not a luxe retreat. It’s like staying in a grubby student house. I was totally embarrassed for the friends I’d booked this for. We were all pretty horrified. I complained to the host and asked for a refund, they asked me to send them photos which I did, and they stopped replying to me me and told booking.com that they were not going to issue any refund. They’re clearly just here to take your money. Don’t bother.
