Sayang Garden & Pool Vllla Ubud

We stayed 3 nights at Sayang Garden Villa. It is in a nice quiet location down a lane with some great healthy cafes and restaurants close by. Everything was adequate and communication was easy. They bought a nice fresh breakfast to us each morning.

Had a nightmare stay for an hour at this property and decided to leave it after check in. Below is the comprehensive review of it: 1) Unclean/unkept property: The bathroom, toilet and bathtub and common areas of the room hasn't been cleaned. Shower glass and showerhead full of stains and mold growing inside. Toilet seats had Poop marks on top and below toilet seat. Bathroom door doesn't close and loose glass on the door about to fall off, which is a health and safety issue. Not even bothered to clean behind bedside cabinets where the plug points are where cobwebs and left over items from a previous stay was found. 2) Incorrect listing: The listing shows free on-site parking but the parking for the property is c.150m from the villa entrance. They bring bikes to take the luggage from the parking to the villa. When we checked out, we had to drag 3 luggages over muddy partly unpaved roads with dangerous conditions with stray dogs!! 24 hour reception on the listing, but they only work from 7am to 9pm! Misleading photos on Booking.com or other sites are there to get customers to book and find out the condition of the property only after they arrive. 3) Power cuts: Villa doesn't have backup generators so we were told if the power goes out we can use candles. With the island having 7 hour power cuts, it is not acceptable for a villa to expect paying customers to stay without electricity or AC/fans overnight. 4) No Grab allowed: The parking area (which is the one 150m away) has a local cabal operating that doesn't allow any pickups from Grab (the Uber equivalent in Bali). So when we left the property, we had to move completely out of the area before the Grab driver could approach us for pick ups. Absolutely not recommended, there are better hotels/villas around that offer similar options for lesser inconvenience. Zero stars!

Beautful property, private, excellent service

The advertised villa looked really beautiful and the private pool looked great.

The photos of this property must be old because it desperately needs a deep cleaning and updating. Everything is old, rusty, broken, dirty, stained, etc. Beware, the photos do not show there are three 2-story houses surrounding this villa with clear view into the garden/pool area, there is no privacy in the pool. Toilet seat was broken on arrival; took them all day to fix and we returned to find they left the villa unlocked and open and a snake had made its way into our bedroom. The hosts were very apologetic and offered spa treatments but our trust was broken and we checked out immediately and found another place to stay for the remainder of our trip. The host refunded us for the unused days.

Location was great. Villa was fantastic. Plenty of places to eat and well priced.
