Quinta de Cima,No campo é Assim

This is the most difficult review to write. In one hand - this is an exceptionally beautiful place, full of charm. I can't begin to explain how pretty it is to wake up in the place and look outside, or wonder about the massive house. It feels like some sort of castle from a thriller movie - which gives it tons of charm and authentic feeling. It's something I can't fully describe. The house is clean, beds are very comfortable, the owner is friendly and helpful (I wish we had more time to talk to her) the house is well equipped and we had a very nice time there. The bottle(s) of wine and freshly baked cakes from the owner was a sweet touch that we loved. I'd say it's the perfect place to go for some peace of mind, enjoying something truly unique with some friends or more mature family.

On the other hand - the house is quite humid (May), you wake up in the morning and the sheets are moist. The air is mouldy (there are air-conditioners set on "Dry" in every room) it's full of stairs which aren't always fit for younger kids (quite deep), and there are no activities for kids in the area (for example - a garden to play at). The place if quite far from grocery stores, and the drive to it is... relatively challenging. That makes you think twice before jumping to the grocery store (15 min away). I think it's worth while for the owner to consider equipping the house with some essentials - bread, butter, cheeses, eggs, etc. But again - you can easily get it yourself, as we did - and cook a very nice dinner with offered facilities. Overall, I don't think it's the best place for young kids, but for adults who just want a unique experience in an amazingly beautiful spot - it's close to perfect.

Endroit dépaysant, au calme avec la fraicheur du soir qui est bien agréable l'été. La maison a beaucoup de cachet et on s'y sent bien.
