Riad La Fayette Bed & Breakfast

The property was very clean to a high standard ..beautifully decorated and a great location with a 5 min walk to the souk 10 min walk to main square 15 min walk to Koutbia mosque …Amine who manages the property is such a kind man with a big heart ..he was happy to walk me around and show me directions and help with anything I needed ..he made my stay very comfortable…the lady who cleans and does breakfast is also very sweet ..always made delicious traditional Morrocon breakfast for me and my son with a warm welcoming smile …been Marakesh many times and this riad is by far the best I’ve been too ..absolutely recommend for the location..the hospitality ..and for a great comfortable stay

the concierge/organizer is extremely rude and aggressive. he arranged a transfer to the airport but when we mentioned we couldnt pay due to the extortionate amount it was, he wouldn’t let us out. we felt really unsafe and he made us scared. he even came with us in the van he basically forced us to get and got dropped off home. see image. it was a very unpleasant experience

The location is prime. A few minutes walk and you are into the Souk, which is what we wanted. Staff at the location are exceptional meeting every need. It would be injustice to the review if I did not mention how amazing Yousuf was. I must say it was his hospitality that made staying at La Fayette great. If we describe going way and beyond to accommodate then that is Yousuf. I have visited Marakech a few times but this has now become my new found favourite.

Wifi is weak, so I recommend purchasing a sim if you are someone requiring continuous internet.

Soo...service at the was highest level. The person managing the facility, the life of the party. gentleman, very helpful, takes care of every detail of the trip. If I ever come back to Marrakesh, it will be there.

Short time visit

The staff were wonderful and did everything they could to look after us and make sure we had what we needed. We asked Amine lots of questions and he always answered messages quickly to help, he even came in on his day off to print our boarding passes (you’ll need that if you fly Ryan air). The Riad is in a great location, walking distance to most of the key sites and despite being near to the souks it was quiet. We felt safe at all times, the bed was comfy and the decor was lovely. They have 3-4 WiFi connections across the site so we found we had good access in most places with the same password for all. It was approx 15 min walk to the main square & 20 mins to the bus stop for the airport. Although we had to walk through the souks with our bags on the way in, we knew a better way going back so it was much easier.

Our room was a little smaller than we had expected but the others seemed bigger so I think we were unlucky with that. It would be helpful to have some hooks in the room as there was nowhere to hang anything. We did arrive to a broken toilet seat but it was quickly fixed when raised.

Tasty and big breakfast, good pressure of water under the shower, friendly staff, towels changed every day.

The AC didn't work in any of the room taht we've been offered. Some of the rooms don't have windows so it get's stuffy quickly, especially after taking a shower (our room didn't have door to the toilet, just a piece of material hanging above the hole in the wall). After our late arrival they welcomed us with a tea and cookies which was nice but the room wasn't prepared for guest (dust on shelves, dirty bed sheets, dirty carpet, the blanket in the wardrobe and bed sheets looked like used before). We've been offered another room but the bed sheets also weren't clean - had stains and hair. It was late and we've been exhausted after a long flight so we asked just for changing the bed sheets. It seemed almost imposible to find the really clean ones. The next day we had a conversation with the manager who offered us an upgrade to another room but still the bed sheets wasn't clean and the AC did not work. At least they cleaned our room properly. They also promised to fix the AC the next day but during our stay it didn't happen. In winter time in early mornings and evenings it was unbearably cold in the room. What's more, the staff allowed other guests to smoke in the common area. The smoke went also to the rooms and without proporcje ventilation it was like a nightmare. Hotel definitely looks better in the pictures than in reality. I cannot recommend staying there. The first day we arrived we asked Booking for help in cancelling the reservation and moving to another hotel but they said that it was not possible so don't count on them also. Simply just choose another accommodation.
